The hair dryer is near the dorm beds, so I felt a bit uncomfortable using it early in the morning (around 6am). I was worried it might wake someone up.

I felt right at home here! The location’s perfect—inside the old town, so you can walk around. The host was super friendly and helpful; she even booked a great tour to Balagezong for me. I also loved the dorm bed—it had a heated mattress, so I slept really well during my 2-night stay. Would totally stay again!

Christina was really nice and she is everywhere !: she gave lots of advices about things to do in Shangri la, she cooked, she helped doing our laundry, she fixed the sink. Her family and her were friendly and introduced backpackers/foreign tourists between them. Location was great, next to the dancing place but in a quiet street. Clean and warm place to stay, thank you so much

From the first time I loved this place. The atmosphere is so friendly here, that I could feel like with the good friends. The owners are friendly and very helpful. And speak English. Comfortable beds, warm duvets, electric blankets. Clean bathrooms. Washing machine and place to dry the clothes on the terrace. Delicious food (vegan options too). Travelers from over the world. And very good location.Highly recommend!

The heating system was in the metress of the bed. Which was strange for me and I couldn't adopt with it and couldn't sleep much.

The lady working there was very helpful with info, train tickey, etc. The place is clean amd has a reeto as well with good food and cheap beer. It's very near the old town. The wifi is ok too.

Tavern hostel is just amazing, from the owners to the food to the location . They speak a really good English and they give you all the informations you need! I booked with them the hike to Abuji Lake (was amazing ) and he booked for me the bus to Lijiang ! Loved the food there, I also tried a Korean dish and the best coffee I ever tried in China! So highly recommended!!!! Thank you guys !! I hope to see you again !

The lady running the hostel is so kind and helpful and speaks excellent English. The breakfast is fresh and home cooked. Clean property and every bed has electric blankets. Really recommend to anyone staying in Shangri-La!

Went for one night, ended up with 3 nights. Can highly recommend staying with this Korean/Chinese family. The food is amazing and everyone working is so friendly! If one day I get the chance to return to Shangri-la, I'll definitely stay here again.

Was the only hostel in china where I actually met people! Super beautiful tiles in the bathroom (which is unimportant but still want to mention). Staff is super nice and helpful. Beautiful old town house.

This is an amazing hostel. Christy and her husband speak perfect english and the food is to die for. I wish I could have taken a lifetimes worth of her homemade Kimchi back with me to Australia. Also the coffee she makes is superb.
