Tujia Folk Houses was an incredible place to stay for our visit to Zhangjiajie. We stayed for two nights while we visited the park and Tianmen Mountain. Tina our host was incredible - she picked us up from the railway station, booked our tickets to the park and mountain, and even wrote out a whole itinerary to guide our visits there, which was incredibly helpful. For this reason, as well as railway station pickup, I would highly recommend connecting with Tina on WeChat before arriving. The house can be a bit hard to find/take a Didi to, so it makes much more sense for her to get you from the station. She also cooked amazing dinners which could be ordered at the guesthouse, and breakfast which came with it. The pool was also lovely, with a view of the Gateway to Heaven! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the guesthouse property was a cool local place to stay. Everything about our stay was wonderful, I truly cannot recommend Tujia Folk Houses enough.

One thing to note is that the surroundings of the hotel don't offer many services or entertainment options, as it’s not located in the city center. Additionally, while the signage, getting there does require navigating some internal roads that can be a bit confusing. However, our host, Tina, made our arrival and departure seamless by providing clear directions and assistance whenever needed.

I recently stayed at a charming boutique hotel on the outskirts of Zhangjiajie, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Despite being located outside the city, the hotel's location is incredibly convenient—it's just a short distance from the airport and perfectly situated between Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Park. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the area's stunning natural attractions. After long days of hiking and sightseeing, the hotel provided a perfect haven for relaxation. The peaceful environment allowed me to unwind and recharge for the next day's adventures. The host, Tina, was exceptionally kind and attentive to all of our needs and requests, making our stay even more enjoyable. Her warm hospitality truly made us feel welcome. A special mention goes to the adorable pet that lives at the hotel. This little companion added a homely touch to our stay, making us feel even more at ease. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Zhangjiajie while enjoying the comforts of a cozy, welcoming retreat.

The place is a little rough around the edges, the photos in the booking site was taken when the place was new and were not entirely accurate of the current state. The garden needs a little TLC, facilities were a little worn (We understand from the owner that they are doing a total renovation in Sept) All that being said... it was homely, and the warmth and hospitality that we experienced, made it a wonderful memorable stay

The hospitality and generosity of the owner was amazing. She picked us up from the Train station when we arrived. She also assisted with all the planning, bookings to the national parks, tickets for shows etc We arrived during the Dumpling Festival and they had friends and family over for celebration in the garden - we were invited to join them, where we wrapped dumplings, and chatted over tea. We were touched by the warmth and hospitality. When the dumplings were cooked, they even saved some for us and sent it to our rooms in the evening. Travelling with 3 teens can be challenging especially laundry. The owner allowed us to use her washing machine to do our laundry when we were there She also prepared simple and delicious breakfast for us during our 3 days stay. The unblocked view of Tianmen Gate mountain while we had our breakfast by the pool was breathtaking Laifu the Pug was super friendly too :) My kids left a cap and soft toy after we checked out - the owner out of her way to mail it to our next accommodation - 5star service!!!

The Tujia folk houses accommodation was fantastic! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Our host was amazing - we were picked up from the railway station on arrival and dropped off when we left. Our host also provided lots of helpful information about Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Park. She dropped us off at the ticket office for Tianmen Mountain and she arranged a taxi to take us to the national park. The pool at the hotel was great for cooling off after a long day out! The view from the pool was beautiful! Overall, great accommodation. And there are two great places to eat nearby!

It’s not the hotel’s fault, but the noise was a let down. The hotel is right behind the airport, so what with the planes landing and trains tooting all night, as well as local noises of dogs and cockerels meant none of us were able to sleep all that well.

Beautiful place with lovely view, and the owner was so helpful with organising itineraries for the park and helping book tickets.

Owner was extremely helpful in planning our trip and very accommodating to our needs. She offered to pick us up from the airport despite it being very late and even took us to the airport at the end of our trip. Helped us book our tickets to see major sights and allowed us to do our laundry for free. Hotel room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel owner was very helpful and gave us many travel tips. There is a nice restaurant with local food around the corner. The swimming pool offers an amazing view on the heavenly gate mountain. The location is very central, right in the middle of Tianmen mountain and Zhangjiajie, which makes it easy to travel around.
