Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaVery beautiful courtyard hotel tucked in the alley, love it so much! Their rooftop balcony view is amazing! Bed is very comfortable and toiletries is beyond complete. Location is very near to the happening NanLuoGuXiang which you can get food easily. Really appreciate the laundry service they provided. And above all, their staff are very friendly , they went beyond and above to help us, call taxi and company us to the alley. Will definitely come back if I ever visit Beijing again.

SingaporeNothing to dislike
Le Zai is nestled within the Hutong area, a few steps away from Nan Luo Gu Xiang. Interior is so tastefully done, and every corner is so beautiful. Breakfast is good too! The staff are all so friendly and helpful to us. They even carried our luggages up and down the staircases. They even helped us to arrange transport and send us off to the cars.

The hotel is beautiful, and the service we don't even have words, of how helpful all the attendants are! They do everything to help you! The hotel has a delicious breakfast, the room is cozy and very complete, anyway, we have only compliments and we will definitely stay again when we return to Beijing!

AustraliaThe room we stayed was smaller than we expected, lol maybe the photos they posted on their page were dramatically stretched, but we understand the space in central Beijing for residents has been small since the old days.
Loved the experience living in Hutong in Beijing’s central area. The hotel has an authentic and classy vibe. We enjoyed the traditional Chinese decor in the guest room and shared lounge area, and the music they played in the dining room. The afternoon tea and Beijing style snacks are definitely one of the highlights, they were freshly prepared and beautifully served.

United KingdomNo wardrobe or drawers in our room.
The hotel is in a great spot. It's got real character. The room was lovely, comfy bed, nice bathroom. In our room the only issue was no wardrobe or drawers for clothes, as we were there for a week that was a bit annoying but in the grand scheme of things we loved it!

ThailandSuper friendly and helpful staffs. The location was good for easy street walks and in a walking distance to Houhai. If you don’t mind a little walk and plan to take the train around it’s a really nice hotel. However if you plan to take taxi it can be a little tricky to come back to the hotel as the road to the hotel is small, many driver may find it’s hard to get in. However there will be no problem leaving the hotel by taxi as the hotel staffs will help you book one. They provide free laundry.

The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The hotel itself is perfectly situated close to a night market right in the famous Hutongs. And most of all our hosts did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible! I would go here again if I have the opportunity.

SingaporeAs one could expect, the rooms are a little tight and the staircases were narrow. So try not to go with big and heavy suitcases.
Always wanted to experience staying in a traditional Chinese courtyard hotel. The location of Lezai was excellent. It allowed for easy access to the nanluoguxiang hutong, a short walk away to the main road and the subway station. The rooms were well heated for our winter stay. The outdoor balcony would have been much better for use outside of winter. The room came with free breakfast and an afternoon tea. Most of all, they had an English speaking staff, and all their staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It made for a memorable stay.

AustraliaNo dislikes. I guess the courtyards were a little dusty, but it was winter, and so they did not expect we would spend anytime outside, which is fair, So no dislikes.
Wonderful location, beautiful old conversion of a hutong, breakfast dumplings were ex exceptional, staff were very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this hotel very highly. In 2018, we stayed in an AirBnB in a hutong, before AirBnB was defunct in China. This was a better location and staff were exceellent. We would love to stay at LeZai again when in Beijing.

AustraliaDuring our stay one of the toilets was blocked twice which caused some inconvenience. However the staff were quick to respond to have it fixed.
The best part of the stay was the staff and the breakfast. It was amazing how all the staff made us felt so comfortable and homey. The breakfast, though not quite a full spread as compared to big hotels, was delicious especially the dumpling soups, made to order. Snacks such as fruits, pastries and sweets were served throughout the day at the cosy cafe. Free flow of herbal teas, soy milk and mineral water were available to guests all day.
