Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It was pleasant time to stay at Memory Garden House during our vocation time. The room was nice, clean, no smell, good facilities, good space for three person, lovely ambience with small garden and tiny canal in front of the room. We felt very relax very time returning to the room. The location is in a quiet street but after walk away 50 metre you can find everything food, market. Recommend to stay here.

MalaysiaThe general place and room vibe is very nice and comfortable however evidence of mould on walls and uneven floor surfaces could be seen. There is also no clothes iron in the room but they do have one in the common area which could be utilised.
The location was very strategic as it is very close to the drum and bell tower. If this is your first time to Xi'an and decide to stay here, I would suggest to get the guest house to arrange the airport transfer as well. It would cost slightly more but worth the convenience. The receptionist is very helpful and they're open 24hrs. There are many restaurants around as well. Metro line is nearby but if you're travelling in a group, you may also use Didi (uber equivalent) which is also convenient.

MalaysiaCons: 1) Located in a narrow street. During our stay in late Dec 2024, the street was under construction and hotel located at the end of the street so we had to get off and drag all our 9 large luggages across the street to our hotel. We were not informed of such construction beforehand. 2) Situated in busy area. Lots of booth and street vendors so if you don’t like crowded or busy place, this may not be the one for you. 3) Other than that, everything was fine!
Pros: 1) Near to Drum Tower, Bell Tower, Muslim Street, Ancient Wall and other attractions in the area. 2) Very easy to find halal / muslim food. 3) Staff is not able to communicate in English but they do have translator on hand so communication was easy. Check-in, check-out and room change were done easily with the help of the translator. 4) Very nice looking and spacious room. Looks quite new. 5) Near to Metro station.

SingaporeToilet has no bidet. My friend and I couldn't get our roaming network. Perhaps the hotel is surrounded by other taller buildings. We had to step out of our room and the hotel to receive our Whatsapp messages/ emails/ google translate as the wifi in the room does not support those apps.
Cozy place. Very Zen vibes. Near the Muslim street and walking distance to train station. Staffs were extremely helpful and friendly.

SingaporeI had asked how to find my way to the property from Bell Tower where the airport shuttle bus would stop at a nearby car park. I got my bearings a bit off and trying to navigate my way to Mafangmen (the street where Memory Garden House is located) was a slight challenge. In all fairness, the instructions given were very clear, but I never took much notice of the photograph of the homestay’s exterior. It has a simple yet elegant doorway very much how an old inn would look (a real antique doorway) and I missed it as I walked on the street. Perhaps some additional signage would be helpful. But once I got my bearings right - that’s when I realised how exceptional this location is!
The location is just amazing. I could walk everywhere - the City Wall (South Gate), Muslim Quarter an the Great Mosque, Drum Tower & Bell Tower are great landmarks close by. The subway station is located beneath the Bell Tower. Lots of good food right outside the homestay. I also just loved the whole vibe and ambience of the property especially my room which was large and very comfortable. The beddings were good quality and the overall cleanliness is acceptable. Toilet and shower are separate units. Laundry is free (washer and dryer easily accessible). The young staff are friendly and ready to help. Staying at Memory Garden House really made my stay perfect.

AustriaThe hotel is in a perfect location, central to Xi’an, but on a quiet street. The staff at the hotel were perfectly friendly. They helped us with all our questions, and gave us recommendations for everything we wanted to see and do during our stay. And what was very important to me personally, the hygiene and cleanliness were at an excellent level. I hope I will have the opportunity to stay there again in the future.

GermanyNothing specifically, everything was super great. We were traveling as a couple and they gave us a double room with two separate beds, but nothing major to us. The rooms are not super soundproof, but there were no major noises.
Our 2 nights stay in this pretty hidden gem in the center of Xi’An was awesome. The room was super pretty and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was the best part! I had my best relaxing shower in China there :) The staff is also very welcoming and helpful, they spoke English to us which made it way easier. In the hotel you have the opportunity to use the washing machine for free if you wish to wash your clothes, which is definitely a game changer if you’re traveling for a longer stay in China. Lovely place to stay for a good price.

NetherlandsOne minor downside was that the non-smoking policy, just like the rest of China, wasn't always strictly maintained, but I was pleased to find that my room did not have a smoky smell. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its great service and prime location!
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making it easy to navigate the area and arrange activities. The location is fantastic—very central and convenient. While the front of the hotel can be a bit noisy, the rooms at the back are surprisingly quiet, allowing for a restful stay.
