Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe number of stairs especially for older people even though the staff helped to carry your luggage it was a bit of a hassle.
The location was close to Lijiang ancient town, eateries. The staff was very helpful especially Frida who speaks English. She helped my sister and me book day tours, taxi to airport and direction around. She communicated promptly via wechat.

MalaysiaIf get the upper room, there's no lift. So might be difficult for old people. But I noticed most of the hotel does not have lift. All stairs.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is also near to the Lijiang Old Town. The room are spacious and comfortable. Luckily we get the 1st floor room. Overall, I love this place.

MalaysiaThe host was very fast encountering the crisis so tbh I don't really have anything that I dislike with the property.
If I have the chance I could've rate the host 100 stars. She was very welcoming and responsive with my inquiries and able to speak english as well. She also recommend some places to go, always offer herself to book driver and entrance ticket to those places. This place is near to the main road and just a walking distance to the old town so trust me, this is the best place stay. Not to forget the place is beautiful and clean, just like the picture they advertised. To the host, i want to thank you for your kind hospitality. Definitely will choose to stay with you if I ever come back to Lijiang and will recomend your place to my friends and family. Good job!

ThailandHome is very comfort, we go there in autumn and the room is very warm. hot water is running good. The location is near the old town city but quite a little bit far from main travel attraction inside the own town but it is not a big problem as you can enjoy the lively of people on the way you walking there. The staff help me do the trip to Dragon snow mountain.

MalaysiaNeed to carry heavy bags upstairs since they don't have a lift. You can ask for help from the counter but would be better if there is a lift.
Near to some halal foods, and near to the old city gateway. Beautiful architecture. The host, Cathy is very helpful and speak english very well, she even recommended some nice spots to buy souvenirs at cheaper prices. 👍

AustraliaThe included breakfast was really basic. This was not a big issue. We just ate there once, then went out for the next few breakfasts.
The location is just outside the ancient town on the main road, so it's easy to find our way back after we finish with our time exploring the small alleys of the ancient town.

United KingdomMy room promised to be a mountain view, but actually it was just facing the main road. The staff tried to help me change the room but most other rooms had no window at all. Also, note, this is not the quietest of a place. No lift for carrying luggage up the stairs.
helpful staff and quick response time. Location of the hotel is great with respect to tourist attractions. It provides everything required for a basic stay. Great for solo or group of backpackers.

Good location along the main road with public buses plying the route to various destinations. The Hostel has nice Chinese architecture and serves a simple Chinese morning breakfast. Lots of little restaurants nearby as well. The ancient city of Lijiang is also nearby.

SingaporeI spent weeks researching hotels in Lijiang while considering other options in Shangri-la and HutiaoXia, and finally settled on Sifate Inn in Lijiang for my first 2 nights. The room/Inn/location was so perfect that I extended my stay to 10 nights, and here's why: A. The Inn An ideal base for day trips to Songzanglin Monastery in Shangri-la, a day hike down middle tiger leaping gorge, another day trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and other day trip to Baisha and Shuhe ancient towns. A century-old mansion with a central courtyard where fellow travelers can gather to exchange tips. B. The Room Recently refurbished with antique-style bed and furniture. A heated blanket kept the bed warm during the cold season. Portable air-conditioning allowed me to adjust the room temperature to my liking. Convenient power socket near the sink for boiling a hot noodle soup on rainy days. Four available power sockets in the room for charging my GoPro, iPhone, and DJI drone. In-room router was perfect for uploading videos to the internet. Crystal-clear groundwater from the basin tap when boiled was safe to drink and tasted so good that I preferred it over the bottled water. C. The Location A short walk to the many entrances to Lijiang Old Town. Public Bus number 2 loops around the old town with stops within 100 meters of the Inn. Taxis and Didi rides can drop you right in front of the Inn with ease. Ease of travel on various public transport to the train station and the intercity bus station. D. The Host The Inn is managed by a young couple, Mr. "Cool" (whose surname translates to "Cool" in English) and his wife Katie, along with a team of energetic youth. They were incredibly helpful, providing insider tips such as how to secure business class train tickets or tickets to the snowcap peak of Yulong Mountain. Such tickets are often blocked/held by larger travel agencies until the night before when they are released for sale to the public.

The communication with the staff is really nice. They are very polite and helpful. They always gave us some suggestions on travelling to the certain locations, tourist areas. Our room was really nice, like old fashion style with a nice smell of wood which was really pleasant. The inn is well located and all the tourist places are really close. We really enjoyed the stay a lot.

United StatesJust a couple of things. STEPS! There are no elevators in the building and you have to walk up a flight of steps from the street level. Also, the breakfast room in on the 5th level and you'll have to walk up there. But you'll be rewarded with a great view over the city. The breakfast was very simple and mostly "white"! Soy milk, hard boiled eggs, mun dou (plain chinese bread roll), steamed sweet potato, plain rice porridge, white rice noodles, condiments for the noodles and porridge. For me, this was adequate but don't expect a fancy breakfast spread. No coffee or tea served.
The location of the hotel was great. It is right on the edge of the Ancient City which is actually quite nice because it's easy to take a Didi or taxi. We had a great view south over the Ancient City with mountains all around. The room was VERY large for the 3 of us! The bathroom was clean and functional. Beds and comforter were super comfy. The staff was very helpful to us. Like most other hotels I believe in the city, they can make tou suggestions and offer to arrange tours for you. Cathy, who I believe attends to most communications in the hotel, speaks some english to that helps a lot. As always, get in contact with them through WeChat for more effective communication. Unlike the first inn we stayed at earlier in our trip, we didn't have to walk in and out of the Ancient City with our bags/luggage and the taxi could drop us right in front of the hotel.

United StatesToo bad that elevator wasn’t on the floor. Unfortunate for people with disabilities. Breakfast could be upgraded to international level.
Typical Chinese breakfast. Great location within walking distance. The owners, Cathy and her husband Mr Teo and members of their staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We love them. Cathy and husband helped us purchase train tickets back to Kumming City. Will return again with other family members.

ThailandThe inn is located near the central old town, I like that it's peaceful and not too busy here. Things went well from booking through check-out. Our communication started a few days before we'd check-in to confirm an arrival time. We arrived in the mid of the night and were greet with nice tea and flower cakes. The staff are super friendly, helpful and attentive, they helped us a lot with itinerary and gave many many good recommendations. Room was nice and clean with spacious bathroom, towels were changed every day. Bed is a little too soft to my liking, electronic blanket provided but it wasn't that cold during our stay. Overall, we had a warm and comfortable stay here and would definitely consider staying here if I visit Lijiang again.
