Emer was amazing. She gave us a bigger room than the one we have booked. She also organized us our tour and booked all the tickets. The dinner she ordered for us was amazing. Our trip wouldn't have been the same without her.

This was just the kind of accommodation I needed in Zhangjiajie. After a couple of lonely days in Guilin, I hoped Zhangjiajie Jijiehao Inn would be a social place for a solo traveller. As soon as I turned up both tables were full of other European travellers and everyone was so friendly. I made friends here who I spend the following days exploring the national park and other places with. Emer, the hostel manager, was extremely helpful with everything. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. As soon as I arrived she helped plan out the next day for me, with specific routes suited to me with the finest details - please see the attached photo. She did this for everyday of my stay with every guest. She helped me out so much. Also, being vegetarian can be difficult in China, she helped order me suitable food. She makes great coffee too. The hostel is the perfect location for visiting the national park and the Grand Canyon. It is a little far out for the Tianmen mountain, however, Emer booked bus tickets for me which were 20 yuan each way (much cheaper than a DiDi). Besides in my opinion, I would prioritise the national park and Grand Canyon over the mountain if you are on a time limit. The bedrooms are perfect, the shower was brilliant, aircon/heating, comfortable beds and the noodles for breakfast were a great way to start the day. I honestly cannot say a bad thing about this hostel. Zhangjiajie is a top 3 stop on my entire trip and I believe that Emer and her hostel massively contributed towards that.

I'm leaving a second review because I extended my stay—I just couldn’t leave! I wanted to take this opportunity to highly recommend this place again. In addition to everything I mentioned before, they also offer free washing machines and have a fantastic rooftop. This hostel truly has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Emer is the best host you can image. She helped me planing my trip around the national park, helped me with the food when I was exhausted after the hikes and she is a wonderful human been. It’s a nice and cozy hostel, quite social and with people from different places. Like 5 minutes to the national park by DiDi (which is veeeery affordable) and close to restaurants and the city center. A great choice if you are in Wulingyuan. 5 ⭐️

Because there were not many people, they changed me to a private two bed which was amazing! The breakfast is amazing but there was one day the lady told me she was not going to make me breakfast because she didn't feel like it 😅

You don't have to worry when staying at this place. The rooms are big and spotless clean. There is heating, hot showers and super fast wifi. Emer, the host, will help you make a plan for the National Park, Tianmen Mountain and Canyon (and more if you wish) based on how much time you have and how active you want to be. She will book all the tickets for you, without any extra cost. If you want she can arrange transportation to any location, cheaper than Didi. She speaks perfect English, makes the best coffee and really makes you feel at home. I will definitely come back here when I'm visiting Zhangjiajie again!

Nothing! It was the best hostel I stayed in China!

Emer, the owner and main staff is absolutely amazing! She is friendly, helpful, proactive, knowledgeable and efficient. She helped us book our tickets without charging an additional fee, helped us program our day based on the amount of time we each had and even assisted in booking local regular buses to the main attractions. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Environment was excellent and there were many shops and small restaurants nearby, which was convenient. Free water refills at reception.

Emer is perfect host of a great place and we are very happy with our stay. Spot is exactly as described, with very tasty noodle breakfast and amazing coffee to taste, which is not common in China. You can always count on Emer with helping out with Zhiangjiajie plans and her positive energy is contagious. Highly recommended!

The hostess was really ambitious and made a big effort to make our stay as convenient as possible. Emer (the hostess) also helped us a lot with planning our trip to the national park, booking our tickets and gave us many recommendations. Also her recommendations for dinner were great! And one of our highlights was definitely the traditional chinese calligraphy course, which she and her boyfriend are offering for free. She has such a welcoming personality and made the stay really special for us :)

It was a bit cold in the house, but Emer always invited us to sit by the brazier/hot table, so I didn't feel it for long.

What a great stay! Emer immediately made me feel welcome with tea and conversation. She helped me plan my trip to ZJJ Forest National Park and gave me such useful tips for TianMen mountain. The highlight though was our girls trip to get 💅 followed by a Calligraphy lesson with Sunny and BBQ dinner. I even met other travellers here! The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was a generous portion of noodles + meat (Emer helped us add some mushrooms we bought to our noodles on one day). The hostel is located about 5mins walk from town and about 20mins walk from the east gate of the national park. There are also little convenience stores all around. From ZJJ central train station there are buses to Wulingyuan for 13¥. Honestly, I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much Emer and Sunny!!!

Having to leave

Emer and her family were amazing. Very friendly and extremely helpful. She planned out my whole trip for me with very precise detail, based on my preferences (it helps that her English is perfect). Just sit back haha. It was also more comfortable than other hostels for cleanliness, space and water quality (fresh cold, warm and hot water). Emer is also a fantastic cook. I can't recommend the hostel enough - it's one of the gems in my years of travelling.

Great place to stay in zhangjajajie, I arrived late at night, they helped me plan my visit, I had an idea of what I wanted to see and they booked all my tickets , I didn't have to worry about a thing. They are super helpful, if you have any questions they will help you. I highly recommend you to stay there.
