This is a homestay where the host and his family create an incredibly inviting stay from start to finish. They help shuttle you into town (within reasonable distance), and are very helpful and forthcoming with information about ZJJ (Zhangjiajie) and the attractions nearby. Looking to come visit the esteemed Avatar mountain? Wanting to explore the Canyon of Zhangjiajie? This is a lovely home just outside of the main city of Yongding. I was even able to tour the parks ony own with the information and maps the host provided. He respectfully helped purchase and guide my itinerary as a local who knew how far away the sites were, time it takes to get there, and how much time to spend in the parks themselves. This stay is PERFECT for relaxing, enjoying peace, eating a tasty Hunan breakfast spread, and branching out. If you are looking for a stay around the area, the host and his family are genuine and truly know hospitality. Highly recommend.

An absolute incredible stay! We loved our stay at Heaven's Gate Homestay, the owner and his family were especially nice, he helped us book tickets for the National Park, gave us recommendations on which routes to take and overall made our life much easier when we were in Zhangjiajie. The room was also spotless, big and very modern. The location is only 5min away from the town. Pefect stay and would definetly come back.

The room was great but had a bit of a strange smell. The toilet was very hi-tech but unfortunately not very easy to understand as a foreigner, and the shower head was a little damaged. That being said. These were all small issues and the experience overall was absolutely amazing and the room was extremely comfortable.

The owner was absolutely fantastic at finding the best routes and tickets and collected and dropped me off at most attractions in town.

owner was very nice and welcoming ! gave us suggestions and guidance on where to go about :) even prepared special meals to suit our appetite. 100% recommend ! ❤️ owners were also very friendly and fetched us to a few places. Room wise was very clean and spacious. toilet comes with bidet and warmer. there was also a jacuzzi in my room. there is a pool downstairs to swimm as well. and there is a projector to watch movies ans listen to music :)

The owner and his family are really friendly and helpful. He picked up us when we arrived and he helped us to organise our hiking in Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiaje forest park : he gave us perfect suggestions to avoid the crowd. The breakfast was amazing and we really felt at home.

This is a lovely home style family run boutique hotel With a great view of Tianmen mountain. Service was great and very nice clean rooms . We had a great home cooked dinner which I believe the father of the owner made for us. Breakfast was included and was also very good. We had a wonderful stay! Also there is the cutest dog that greets all the guests - My daughters fell in love with him.

Very clean, comfortable rooms. I had a room with the Mountain View and it was great to wake up with such a view. The homestay owners are super friendly and attentive. Prepared great breakfast for morning and also guided on all the arrangements for the sightseeing. Strongly recommend this place!

Great host, helped to booked tickets, arranged everything. Nice location, little bit outskirts of town, but has free transfer so it is OK. The place is decenet, nice location, clean room and bathroom. The stuff is super nice. The pool was also clean and refreshing in the warm.

I had a fantastic stay at Heaven's Gate Home Stay. The check-in was quick and the staff were incredibly welcoming. My room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of thr mountains. The bed was super comfortable and the amenities were excellent. What truly stood out was the exceptional and truly one-time service. Every staff member was friendly and attentive, making my stay truly memorable. I highly recommend the hotel and look forward to returning.

We highly recommend this hotel in Zhangjiajie. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The breakfast was exceptional, and they went out of their way to accommodate our vegan diet with a variety of options, never making us feel like a burden. Isaac’s father is an amazing chef, and his culinary skills made each meal a great experience . Our host, Isaac, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. He assisted us in countless ways, starting with picking us up from the train station upon our arrival. Throughout our stay, he frequently drove us to various locations and provided drop-off services whenever he could. Isaac’s extensive knowledge of the local area was invaluable. He gave us detailed explanations about the walking tours around Zhangjiajie Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain, including insightful briefings on what to expect at each site. He also helped arrange our tickets and provided clear instructions on how to navigate the attractions. His support truly enhanced our experience and made our trip memorable. The hotel is modern and clean, ensuring you won't feel like you're missing on anything. It's a great place to stay for visiting Tianmen Mountain and the Avatar Mountains, and its close proximity to the train station which adds to the convenience.

Unfortunately in summer it’s inevitable to encounter heaps of mozzies but the host provides free insect repellant, mozzie nets at the windows and they check the room everyday to rid it of insects before you come back (superrr appreciated!!!).

It’s run by a lovely cute family who are very thoughtful. They would help to turn the air conditioner on in each room before we come back each hot summer day 😌 and there was delicious home cooked breakfast every morning The host also makes the entire zhangjiajie trip stress-free for his guests. He uses his experience and knowledge as an ex-tour guide to enhance our experiences by giving recommended itineraries and great explanations how to get around the areas we wanted to visit - to see the best sceneries from different angles and how to avoid the crowds! He would also settle the transportation to the locations at reasonable pricing (comparable to hailing a didi, worth!!!). Communication with the host via WeChat was also great with fast responses to queries and regular check-ins. The host was also very very accommodating and really goes out of his way without making you feel bad (like driving us to the night market/convenience store at 11+pm 🥲🥲🥲 because we were hungry). He gives great food and shopping recommendations too!

International touristic guides does not always explain well the differences and the distances between the different areas/national parks in Zhangjiajie (this, of course, does not depend on the host, who was, as said, always helpful and willing to give us a lot of advice). Just a suggestion for those who will visit Zhangjiajie: be aware that the area is really big and a lot of attractions are inside different areas/parks with different ways of access.

The rooms were great, super clean, well equipped (with hair dryer, slippers, shower gel, shampoo, towels, etc. there is also a heatable toilet 😊) and with wide windows and a Beautiful view on Mount Tianmen. Also the rest of the accomodation is nice, with a nice swimming pool and a strategic location, close to Zhangjiajie airport, West railway station and Mount Tianmen cablecar. But the best part is the kindness and helpfulness of the host: he picked us up from the airport, dropped us off at the railway station, organized our trasfers to the different areas af Zhangjiajie, advanced us the payment of the relevant entrance fees, explained on a big monitor in the dining/living room the main point of Zhangjiajie areas and gave us a lot of useful suggestions 😍. And also his mum was great: she helped us with the laudry and prepared amazing breakfast / dinner with the best dumplings we had during our trip in China so far 😍 Thank you so much!!!
