I've stayed at Tongfu Inn for five nights and I couldn't have chosen something better to explore the Zhangjiajie national park. Carol will explain everything you need to know about what you can explore and how it works, she helped me buying tickets and transports and she gave me some maps. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Carol and her family are always available to help you with anything you need and they will cook super tasty and fresh food everyday. Tongfu Inn is definitely super recommended!

Tongfu inn was an amazing place to stay while exploring the national park. The location and local knowledge provided by Carol meant we had a smooth and most importantly queue free trip through the park. Carol helped us plan out our day and provided detailed maps and was on hand for any questions we had. Carol’s communication in English was excellent and allowed us to have an easy time planning. The rooms were large and comfortable with warm showers which was great after a long day walking. There was excellent food available for very reasonably priced large meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Carol helped us arrange transport to and from the train station. The whole stay was a breeze and allowed us to just enjoy the wonderful scenery at the national park.

Carol was very nice and super helpful. She helped us book the tickets to Tian zi mountain and even told us about the preferential tickets. She was always ready to help whenever we text her and help us as much as she can. The inn was near the entrace gate to go to Tian zi mountain and the room was clean too. We also ate breakfast there and the breakfast was delicious and cheap too. Would recommend anyone to come here

The breakfast was tailor made for every person. The host, Ms.Carol is the one of most sweet persons you will meet. She was very understanding of our food options and ensured the food was served on time. She also took up the responsibility of booking out tickets to all tourist spots and gave us an English map for navigation. The map was better than an official guide. All thanks to Carol who helped us create a perfect plan for us to enjoy our trip without any stress. This has been our best stay so far in many many years and all thanks to Carol n Booking.com

We are really satisfied with our stay at Tongfu Inn. The hostess, Coral, was really kind and helpful, and she spoke English. She arranged for us to be picked up at the train station and driven to the hotel, and she booked the tickets for the forest park for us. This was very helpfull, since the ticket website is only in Chinese. She also arranged for our luggage to be sent to the next hotel, so we could go directly to the Grand Canyon and the glass bridge. The room was very affordable, and the beds were comfortable and big. She served really good homemade breakfast and dinner. The room was a bit cold, since we were staying there in January, but it had warm airconditioner and the hostess also provided hot water bottle for us. We would really recommend to stay at Tongfu inn when going to the forest park. You are close to the west gate entrance, which is, in our experience, less crowded than the east entrance. This makes it possible for you to enjoy the first bit of the park with less people.

The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. We cane in very late in the evening, she even woke up to open the doors for us. She gave us extra blankets and warming flasks for us to stay warm in the cold weather. The breakfast and dinner were homecooked. It really is a tight-knit small family hotel!

Carol was an amazing host and made our stay easy and relaxing. She helped us organise all of our tickets and gave us a plan to see the national park. She even kindly helped us deal with multiple issues that arose with lost bags and passports. The food was delicious and reasonably priced in the restaurant, and tuotuo and the little puppy made us really feel at home for the two days we stayed.

Carol was the perfect hostess, I was there for only one day and wanted to maximise my visit of Zhangjiajie National Park, she recommended the perfect tour. The room was spacious and functional, the Inn a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the park. I would definitely recommend Tongfu Inn.

Carol was incredibly accommodating. She not only arranged our tickets but also assisted us when we encountered an issue. The food was delicious, and the room was spacious and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is just a few meters from the Zhangjiajie entrance gate, making it the perfect stay in an ideal location!

Location was great! Right next to the West Entrance of the National Park. Our room was also very comfortable and clean. What we liked the most was Carol, she helped us a lot! She booked our national park tickets and Tianmen Mountain and at the same time provided guidance which way to take and also arranging car pickup. The Inn has also restaurant - it seems family owned one, Carol was also very helpful in translating things for us. Since international card gets charged when you exceed 200 Yuan, Carol was kind to allow us to pay by batches so we don’t get charged the fee:)

Our stay at Tongfu Inn was fantastic! Carol and her whole family were very helpful and welcoming. She organized all entrance tickets for the scenic areas in Zhangjiajie for us. The Inn itself has an awesome location (5min walking from the entrance of the park) and had a very nice terrace to hang out. We can only recommend staying there as the food, the beds and the atmosphere were just amazing.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect, very close to the park. The food was delicious! The rooms are clean and comfortable. But the best of all was the lovely family that lives there. Carol, her mother and Tuotuo were amazing hosts. I would love to stay here again.

Carol was the perfect host during our stay in Tongfu inn. She has organized everything for us , transportation from Zhangjiajie, the tickets for the national park and Tianamen mountain. Also every morning, she made a proposal for our visits. The room was big and comfy. There were different breakfasts options, and the food made by Sue (Carol's mother) were very delicious. Most of ingredients used was cultivated in their garden. We really loved our stay there with Carol's family. If we have the chance , we will definitely come back again.

There is nothing we didn't like!

This guesthouse is an absolute GEM.It is run by a lovely family ,who are all very welcoming and friendly.Carol speaks good English and gives excellent advice about the activities in the area .We loved being there and were very sad to leave. Carol organised taxis ,park entry tickets for us, and accomodation at our next destination.I cannot recommend Tongfu enough.We ate breakfast and dinner there too and the meals were tasty and fresh.

The only thing that wasn‘t great was the shower. The drain was a little clogged, so the bathroom filled up very quickly with water.

Carol was an amazing host! She explained in great detail the best way to see Zhangjiajie park and Tianmen mountain, and helped with reserving the tickets online. The location was great as it was only a few minutes walking from Zhangjiajie ticket office. The breakfast/dinner options at the hostel were also delicious and convenient.

Bed was hard. Location is great for going to the park. I would suggest staying 2 nights here and then 1 or 2 nights near east gate to allow yourself more time to get the full value of the area. 4days total and split 2 between the east and the west side.
