Truly exceptional service! It was our first time travelling here and Wally helped us plan our day-by-day trip through Zhangjiajie and other nearby towns. He is very knowledgeable and will give you directions, walking routes, dinner recommendations, etc. Wally was always checking in with us to make sure our stay was comfortable. There is laundry upstairs if you ask. The location is also great, just a short walk from the park entrance. Would definitely recommend and come stay again!

Wally House was perfect—clean, close to the park, and Wally was an excellent host. he made great recommendations for me to follow during the visit to Zhangjiajie park. I especially liked his six-year-old Labrador “Do-Ro” (seems to mean “fatty” in English). I highly recommend Wally House to anyone visiting Wuliangyuan.

No complaints about anything. Everything was perfect.

The host Wally was a gem, he spoke good English and helped me plan a 1.5 day trip to the national park (which the main entrance was located 5mins walk away) Wally made a very detailed map of how to hit every part of the national park including which areas need busses, which cable cars I will take and the price of each attraction too. Needless to say, without him I wouldn’t be able to smash out the entire park during my stay. The accommodation was very good value for money too. He gave me a free room upgrade, bed was very soft and comfy. Shower was very hot and room was very spacious. The accommodation was also located right next to a food street with lots of restaurants nearby too.

1. No breakfast option is available even for additional money. You have to take care of it yourself. However just next door there are few eating places where I had my breakfast for good value for money. 2. No cleaning during a stay. There is an announcement on the door that you can ask if you need Wally. It was really not needed for my short stay, but I think would be little better if at least the waste bins could be emptied on a daily basis. However it was a minor detail that did not impact my very good experience staying at Wally house!

1. Wally is a great host! He is speaking good English and he is taking care of you all your stay. He provided me a big map of the park, advised perfect routs to save time and see all the best locations. Later it happened to be the perfect organization which helped me to save time and visit also Grand canyon which was not initially planned. When I was late in the park he asked where I am and why did not return on time. And presented me a local tea when I left. He is an example of hospitality. Thank you Wally! 2. Location. Just 7-10 min walk to the park entrance and next corner is a night food street where you can taste local food, also lot of cafes and shops. This is important when you are very tired after visiting the park. 3. Comfy soft mattress and pillow. Which I learned not a common in China where people prefer very hard matresse. I suffered a lot from this in other places. Here the bed was perfect for me. 4. You have to know that free water and bath amenities are provided, you just need to ask Wally. 5. Hot water, good pressure, no bad smell in the room. 6. All the staff in the room is fixed, in working condition, nothing broken. Good light in the room. 7. There is a very big and kind cute dog of Wally meeting you every day :-) 8. The room was big, enough space to place your luggage and things.
