Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Malaika (the other hostel) was quite noisy as it is located close to many bars and restaurants.
We had a minor issue when we returned to ADN as there had been a double booking in the room we were supposed to be staying in. The staff arranged for us to stay in their other hostel (Malaika) at no extra charge and even paid for our taxi fee to get there. The size of the rooms was amazing, the bathrooms were spacious with hot water and good water pressure and there was a great overall feel to the hostel.

No separation of TV room and cafe so bit of noise interference - fine with subtitles tho! There is a terrace but not really in use

The Night Shift girl likes to sing along the music, can be bothersome for sleeping when you have a room like us, close to the reception.
The place looks very modern and well kept together, it’s really inviting you to spend time in the common areas. Andres gave us a really good breakfast service while Fray is even more service-oriented and furthermore a top notch host to the max.

The hostel is very nice and very well located. It is in el Polblado, the center of nightlife, but at the same time it is far from disco and busy street. All the services are very close. The position is perfect. We really appreciated the receptionist ( Fary) who was very helpful and kind. He helped us a lot with suggestions and tips. He speak a perfect English and he was our guide during our stay there. We really recommend this hostel. They make very good espresso

the location is excellent and the rooms are nice and clean! Staff was friendly and helpful! You can get free coffee in the morning. We are definitely coming back to stay longer in one of the apartments or bigger rooms!

The room could be a bit bigger but there were other options and I chose de cheapest, so can't complain
I liked the location, poblado is the place to be. Plus, the breakfast was simple but good, and they kept and saves our bags for the day while we waited for our flight. They were the nicest staff I ever met!

This hostel is perfect. Clean, nice little rooms with private bathrooms, really good location. And the staff made the stay even better. Never had somebody being so caring and helpful in a hostel before. I came here and needed medical assistance and they organized a doctor who came to my room. They did everything they could to make me feel better. Awesome! Thank you so much.

On the outskirts of Pobalado, yet close to the metro! Breakfast was ok. The wifi of Medellin was pretty horrible and would just cut in and out.
Nice private space. Not many English speaking travelers though.

sensor light came in and off all night. very annoying. also people in room next to me make tons of noise in room and up and down metal stairs and 4-5 in morning. loud metal stairway in back rooms.

-internet was poor (very slow most of the time and sometimes didn't work for us - I told the staff but there was nothing they could do)

Only minor improvement would have a been a wardrobe in the room - but really not a big deal
Good location close to the metro and bars/restaurants. Very friendly and helpful English-speaking staff. Clean, spacious and secure room, which was even serviced every day (we didn’t expect that in a hostel)! Generous and healthy breakfast, plus access to a kitchen if required and a small rooftop area. Bar open in the afternoons with very reasonable prices.

Noise. Sounds tend to reverberate throughout, e.g. people talking or going up or down the metal staircase, plumbing. Not excessive, but it's there and light sleepers may want to use their earplugs.
Super friendly staff - Eli, Del, Katerina, Laura... - clean and comfy - convenient to metro - good breakfast - good value.
