GermanyMany things were broken or did not work. When I left somethings of value in the hotel safe, I was not able to open it again. The receptionist could not open it either and since it was already night I had to wait until the next day to finally get my stuff. Moreover, my phone was not working and I was not able to turn the air conditioner of, because the battery of the remote control was empty. Furthermore, I was not able to turn the shower really warm, and the temperature of the water was changing constantly. Lastly, one of my friends stayed with me for one night. Since the reservation was on my name but for two people we just went to the room. On the next day we went to have breakfast where we were notified that the room was only for one person. We were made to go to the reception and check my friend in. I have been to many hotels all over the world (including within Colombia) and it has never been a problem to take a friend to my room, if it was booked for two. It was the first and only time that I suddenly had to check in the second person as well. The people at the reception were kind of rude and were even threatening to call the police (because my friend did not have her ID with her). (At the reception they told me that it was by law that in Colombia always all the people in one room had to check in. However, the next days I stayed at a hotel in Barranquilla where nobody cared if I took my friends to my room.)
The location was good. The breakfast was at least decent. One of the receptionists was really nice, he even gave me some cash (I deposited US dollars so he could borrow me Colombian Pesos). Because due to the incident with the hotel safe I was not able to get my credit card back.

ColombiaThe first night of my stay the air conditioner was not working, it took a little more than an hour for them to fix it. On Saturday during the day the internet was not working and took a way too long time to be fixed. It was upsetting that the person attending the reception, in the late hours of Friday March 17, allowed a Venezuelan couple and a sex worker to enter the room; it was terrible that they were in the next room as I had to listen to the whole sexual marathon during the night and later during the early hours of Saturday, had to witness the fight that took place with the intervention of the police. It is assumed that a Hotel does not allow the entry of people who are not staying in the rooms and less the entry of sex workers; This does not speak well of a hotel that is supposed to be four stars. I conclude that the person in the front desk (reception) during the night was not qualified for the job or client service due to his condition, he was more interested for guests to be aware of his sexual preference than to serve us.
The staff great, I felt very confortable how they wanted customers to feel always welcome. During breakfast the food was ok but wasn't worthy of a four star hotel.

GermanyI was charged for a Junior Suite of 24 sqm, with one single and one double bed, but given a much smaller room with only one double bed. The adjacent room was separated by a permanently locked door and we could hear every word of our neighbours through it. When I asked for a refund of what we had been overcharged with, my request was rejected on the base that the hotel itself had “qualified” this room as a Junior Suite. Certainly, staff could not explain me what would be then the difference between a standard double room and a so called Junior Suite.
Most of the staff was friendly and welcoming.
