We loved this hostal. Diana and all the staff were friendly and helpful and Diana gave us some great tips for getting around and where to go. The terrace is lovely and there are a couple of great cafes and restaurants very nearby. The location is really great, it is a short walk straight down the hill to the Plaza Bolivar and museums, shops, bars etc. We did the Bike tour which was an excellent way to get to know the city and climbing Monteserate is also recommended. We took part in Salsa and Yoga classes. Carlos, the yoga teacher, is a great teacher. We are 57 and 60 years old so slightly older travellers than your usual hostal crew but we felt right at home and the bedrooms are really comfortable.

The place to stay in Bogota’! It’s been a real big pleasure for me as it was my first step in Colombia as a solo traveller! The location is perfect, dormitory too and you also can have a very good breakfast there! All the plants the fornitures and the atmosphere great too! A special thanks to the incredible staff, a mention to Federico the bartender for the unforgettable cocktails! Totally recommend ♥️

Breakfast was good but slow, 1 order cooked at a time. Sign said good news waffles, but every morning they said no waffles. Don't ask to tip the cleaning staff, pay them better.

Fantastic location, big private room with 2 beds, good breakfast, good botanical garden, roof terrace was great, views from roof great, hot shower, cool hostel, great sitting cushion area.

The kitchen is very small and you don't really get the chance to cook your own breakfast as the hostel offers a cooked breakfast (for a fee) and you're definitely in their way if you want to use the kitchen in the morning. But the kitchen is available to use at other times.

Probably one of the best bunk beds I've slept in while traveling. The bunks might be high, but once you're up there the privacy curtains, blankets and pillows make it super comfortable. The bathrooms are cleaned each day and are well equipped. Love that they have an indoor fireplace in their lounge room which was super cosy. The bartender was awesome and it was so nice hanging out in the garden area when the weather was good. Also super close to some awesome restaurants.

There was not a real door to close the dorm and more daylight in the room would be nice too, but none of them really bothered me too much while staying there.

I liked the hostel and the people working here. The nicest experience for me was the family dinner on Friday, the ajiaco soup they prepared for us was a gastronomical heaven. They have good beds.

The bathrooms weren’t very clean, some showers wouldn’t really get warm, and the lockers were rather small.

The beds were very comfortable and quite private. The indoor fire was very cozy!

The Botanico hostal exceeded my expectations. I stayed five days in the women’s dorm. The location was excellent-steps from the historical center. The hostal was kept clean. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed the views from the terrace in the morning and at sunset.

Not a real bad point because its not the hostel fault, but it would have been justified to tell us in advance that there is a water rationing in Bogota due to drought by the city and can cause interruptions of all water during 24h. The establishment knows the calendar.

This hostel was awesome. The vibe was social but not a party hostel. Met great people. The location in La Candelaria was close to tons of museums and good restaurants, and I felt safe there. The staff was super nice and helpful. There were a good amount of showers and bathrooms and there was hot water! Beds were comfortable with curtains for privacy. Female Only dorm was a plus. Free tea and coffee, good breakfast for a fair price, and laundry service.

You can check-in 24 hour but you're not allowed to wait in the common area before 11am...i arrived very early, 6am and had to pay for the night before. They gave me a discount but still. Never happened before in my life. I get that they don't want people crashing in the living room but I was solo and I wasn't warned before even if they knew I was coming super early. The room was cheap so it's ok but I would have been pissed if it was for a more expensive private room. A second round of cleanling would be great (bathroom/toilets)

Super cosy, feels like home and the place brings beautiful people. Location is pretty nice. Bar inside, breakfast and diner (super good!) the family friday diner was absolutely delicious. The view is pretty great, all common area too. Something intimacy in the room.
