Loved this hostel! It was so comfortable, clean, really well run, the pool and bar area was beautiful, and the whole staff made us feel welcome and attended to. Alicia, in particular, welcomed us warmly and gave us a really nice orientation to the hostel and the surrounding area. Definitely recommend!

I would suggest to put some more lights outside!!

We were there only during a weekend which was GREAT!! We loved the pool area for chilling and enjoyed the sun :) Also, the staff that was SUPER helpful as well!

The Hostel is cool, with a nice area for eating, drinking and chilling. The staff was really nice with us and the beds comfortable.

- not the cleanest bathrooms - I saw 3 cockroaches during my 2 night stay - some of the deck chairs by the pool are broken

- good location 15 mins walk to the centre - large kitchen - drinking water tap - met lots of other solo travellers which was great! - breakfast was good - you could add extras for a price - cute cats

I stayed in two different "deluxe" double private rooms; one had hot water but the other didn't, and neither had toiletries. It's a bit of a walk into the main town and you maybe wouldn't to be in the neighbourhood after dark on your own. Kitchen is far too small for the number of people staying at the hostel.

One of the best hostels I stayed in during my trip. Friendly staff, tasty free breakfast, free filtered water, coffee and cacao beans, good wifi, small pool, hammocks, and spacious indoor and outdoor common areas. Quiet and comfortable private rooms. Free luggage storage. Fairly rapid laundry service.

Not much to complain

I really liked the hostel. The area was very central and safe, and the staff was friendly and supportive. The bar area was great, and the food was also good. For the price, the breakfast was very good.

I loved this hostel; extended from 3 nights to more than a week and I will come back again. Melissa and Alicia are super friendly and helpful, then in the kitchen you get amazing food from Margarita. The pool is awesome and cleaning ladies are doing great job. 🙂

Social hostel, many English speakers and opportunities to connect inside and out - by the pool or in the working area or kitchen. Good signage and space for everything. Private room felt luxurious. Staff were very friendly and accomodating.

Cool place, met so many interesting and beautiful people. The staff was also amazing, especially Sofia from the bar who is the nicest bartender ever and even taught me how dance vallenato (or at least tried to😁)

Some guests leave the kitchen very dirty and don't clean up after using it. I would also recommend cleaning the ash trays on the tables in the bar area more often, as it is not pleasant to have a breakfast with the smell of cigarettes.

Cacao Hostel is located in a residential neighborhood, which I liked a lot. It provides tranquility, but it is in walking distance from the old town. I liked the social area of the hostel, garden with the swimming pool, hammocks, bar, and kitchen. It's easy to find people to talk to, if you wish so. The staff is very friendly and helpful, all the receptionists working there and also volunteers. I really liked Mar, the volunteer from Peru, she is extremely friendly. She organized salsa classes and in general was very friendly to help with anything. I recommend staying in Cacao hostel, if you are in Santa Marta.

Friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast & free coffee all day. Loved the laid-back vibe, spending time reading my book in the hammocks... I stayed in a 4-bed female only dorm, but as I was the only person in the room, I actually ended up with a 'private' room experience...

The breakfast is amazing, beds are super comfy with great a/c so you can cool down and sleep well at night. Cacao has a really good atmosphere and I will be back for sure! A big thank you to Alicia, Lina, Melisa and everyone else at the hostel for making it such a great experience!

How friendly reception once, especially Alicia. Helped us out a lot in booking tours. Always a smile on her face. The rooms are spacious. Fully working kitchen and shower. Amazing pool and beautiful area to chill. Booked our lost city tour via them. You get 1 free night when you book via them. Same price as everywhere else. This place is amazing.
