Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWe loved our stay here! We booked a family room which had a double bed, bunk bed and private bathroom and it was perfect for 3 of us. We ended up staying another night in Salento and luckily were able to extend our stay at CTBH in the same room. Our room included breakfast which was nice and varied, a choice of either choc chip pancakes, French toast or scrambled eggs and toast - all came with fruit. The hostel is definitely on the more boutique end, as it is beautiful and spacious, but still offers social activities and arranges different tours like mountain bike riding and horseback riding. The 24 hour tea and coffee available is amazing, as is how clean the place is kept including communal bathrooms. Our room was cleaned during our stay and we loved the amenities provided in the bathroom. The two huge hostel dogs are also a major positive about this place! It is further out of Salento than other accommodations, but this means it is more peaceful and quiet, and it is only about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the main square, restaurants and supermarkets

United StatesThe dorm room was kind of smelly and the place to lock up your bags was inconveniently located under the bed. I think I was the only one who used my locker. It gets cold at night in Salento. The problem is that there's nowhere warm and comfortable to sit and relax in the hostel in the evenings, so the best thing to do is to just go to bed if you don't want to go out. It's too bad there's no fireplace or just somewhere warm to sit in the evenings. The WiFi is REALLY REALLY bad even in the social rooms. The view isn't all that great - part of the reason I booked the hotel was for the view.
The breakfast was pretty good and the hostel provided me with lots of good travel information. They have different activities in the evenings like food tour.

Lovely social hostel with plenty of activities to get involved in such as salsa classes. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking basic meals and the rooms/shared bathrooms were always kept clean.

AustraliaMy bed was on the veeeery firm side of things but I think I just got unlucky.
Great location, just out of the busyness of the centre but just a short walk to cafes and restaurants. Beautiful property with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The dogs were very cute and friendly! Such a peaceful place and had some amazing sleeps.

United KingdomThe property is great but the roosters and dogs around the town don’t stop, bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
A great hostel, in a great location with amazing staff (including the doggos). Everyone was friendly and helpful, the location is quiet on the edge of town. The hostel organise social events so it’s easy to meet people.

United KingdomThis place has a special place in my heart. By far the best accommodation during our 1 month travels in Colombia based on price. Room was cleaned daily, toiletries in the bathroom. Large room, breakfast very tasty, the help yourself coffee/water 24/7 was an amazing touch for what is probably not a huge cost to the hostel. They organise plenty of social events which made it easy to meet other travellers without it being a party hostel. They had both classes, e.g. salsa and yoga, but also group meals at local restaurants and they'd organise Tejo nights. Front desk staff were always happy to help with questions. communal areas comfy and as it's on the edge of town, walkable to a range of restaurants/bars etc.

ColombiaThe rooms are very dark and as a solo traveler is not a very social hostel, there are not activities to do there.
The hostel is a very pretty big house with a nice view of the mountains, it’s a quiet place and has nice facilities for coworking and comfortable beds.

SwitzerlandWe stayed two nights in a private room with ensuite. Our girls loved the bunk beds. The room was large and comfortable. It is a short walk from the town centre but it takes 5-10 minutes. There are a couple of local grocery stores close by. We appreciated having a kitchen where we could prepare some food and the staff worked hard to keep this clean. The hotel is a mix between a boutique hotel and hostel and it works well. Our girls also loved playing in the garden and the chill out zone.

United KingdomSlight stale smell in our room, and beds a bit hard, but nothing major.
The staff at the front desk were fantastic - always ready to help with recommendations, and flexible about letting us keep bags at the hostel before/after check-in/out. Breakfast was good value - particularly the choc chip pancakes. Hostel is easily walkable on the edge of town, which means it's a little bit quieter than in the centre.
