Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe staff at the hostel were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. They were all fab! I feel like they made the hostel really special. I would like to give an extra shout out to Karen, who arranged and accompanied us paragliding, which was amazing! Huge thanks! 😁 The views at the hostel are beautiful and the common area is clam and welcoming. A great place to relax after a days hiking or exploring.

SwitzerlandI was very well received at this hostel. It offers a lot of activities and is a great place to rest if you like a quieter hostel. The people who work there were very welcoming, especially Karen, the best of them.😁

United KingdomLiked everything
Beautiful views from the hostel, nice common areas, great activities for socialising, two lovely dogs... location is on the outskirts of town but Salento is tiny, so only a 10min max walk. Preferred staying here than the hostels in the main town as nice, chilled, and quieter at night. Booked the Kasaguadua tour via the hostel - would recommend.

United KingdomWifi was patchy, you'll want a sim card for data whilst here (ask reception where to buy one in town)
Such a nice place! The location is perfect, a brisk walk into the very centre of town but undisturbed by the hustle there and with some exceptional views of the surrounding mountains. My corner room had a breathtaking balcony! Some good tours offered by reception - I'd recommend the nature reserve and a night of tejo. Brekkie was simple but a decent start to the day, and it was great to have coffee throughout the day. The hammock area at the bottom of the garden feels like chilling out in the tropical jungle with just birds and wildlife for company, so so welcome after the usual busy mornings you'll have in and around Salento!

NetherlandsJust put the hammocks up already. Unnecessary to make people rent/borrow them and have us do it ourselves. Also, maybe install a nice bench on the way down to sit and read a book? Also, the lockers don’t really work if the other side is just open anyways haha.
The view, the dogs, the friendly staff and the nice rooms.

CanadaIt’s close to the street and some stray dogs bark all night and horses roam the streets all night. Yes, horses.
Really nice place and clean and our room was more of a hotel than a hostel.

NetherlandsThere is a separate kitchen to cook and that is a bit old and not a lot of utensils. It is downstairs in a really weird place. But they clean it everyday
The hostel is so beautiful with an amazing view. Breakfast is quite cheap and good. Free coffee all day

SwitzerlandThe place is very beautiful, resembling an old colonial house. The double rooms are spacious and offer a lovely view of the surrounding Andean forest. The staff is very friendly and energetic, contributing to a lively and vibrant atmosphere. The hostel proposes many activities, but I definitely recommend the visit to Kasaaguada.

NetherlandsThe socket are kind of weird, the charger and adapter kept falling down. The luggage store it's not locked. Anyone go in and go out! Probably my fault, but wifii was terrible, I discovered too late there are a lot of other options you can choose with the same password! It worked.
Super nice hostel that looks like more an hotel in the green side of the city but still, 5min walking to the main square! Safe area but safe village I would safe! They have every night activities you can apply for and a board with a lot of other tours! Everyone working there can help you! Spacious common area, a separated big kitchen with a fridge too and more space with hammock! Rooms are also spacious, with windows and wherever you look at, there is a beautiful view anyway! The bed its really hard! But don't judge it, I slept like a baby and never thought about it anymore! Big bathroom and shower with hot water! Great terrace and outdoor space, you wake up with the birds and horses! A bit early but if you don't mind it's a great way to start your day! They serve a simple good breakfast from 7am, great time and it's fresh, just cooked in front of you! Nice warm water and no issues with pressure! Check in is from 14, you can leave the luggage.

It's a calm oasis in Salento. Easy to make friends in the common areas and they had classes for yoga and salsa. Staff are super friendly. Filtered water and free coffee available.

United KingdomReally beautiful hostel located on the outskirts on Salento. Has beautiful views overlooking the mountains. There’s also so many areas to sit and relax around the hostel as well as a huge garden at the back. The breakfast is fairly cheap and good value for money and they have a drinking water tap that’s free to use. The beds and dorms were comfy and spacious and the bathrooms were always clean. I also found it to be quite social as a solo traveller.
