Our rooms all looked very worn and uncared for. Could really do with a refit . Ours wasn’t particularly clean . At check in it was a struggle to pay as card machine was playing up . We had to return later . Breakfast was full of staff doing very little . We had to go and find staff to even get our first cup of coffee . Omelette were made and dumped on the side to get cold even though staff were hanging around with nothing to do .

The swimming pool was really dirty and was not possible to use it. We asked for some extra bottles of water but after 9.30pm the receptionist doesn't have the keys of the fridges and they told us to drink from the tap. We requested to pay in advance, but they said that it was no possible because the system didn't allow them to print the invoice. Not what you expect from a place that claims to be a 5-star hotel.

The hotel is inside and old monastery, and it is quite amazing. Room are ok. The bathroom is quite old, but fine. Cocktails were really good.

Staff difficulty in communicating. Also exploiting foreign guests by offering services, e.g., transportation at prices several times the normal fares.

We booked a garden view room, but got a room at the street site : very noisy from very early in the morning !! Very old fashioned furniture. Food in the restaurant was very basic and not delicious.

This hotel is very nice, the team very helpful and friendly. But the rating is 1 because of the very loud music: We stayed 3 nights, Thursday-Sunday. On Thursday afternoon we were noticed about a private event on Friday night between 8 pm to 2 am, and they apologize for the inconvenience.am(!). fortunately we didn't suffer this night. But on the next day, without any warning, 3 events along the whole day. And from 10 pm very loud music. we couldn't sleep or escape from that music. At about 12 I went to the reception asking them to do something, to lower the volume.. nothing helped until I went to the event area and asked for silence. at that time all the guests already left, After that we stayed awake until very late. On the next day we left early. I didn't want to pay for the last night, but the receptionist promised me that the manager or other one will mail me. They responded only after I complained and asked for compensation. They said that the guests know about the events when they check in (not true). But actually it doesn't matter: when you already came to the hotel you can do nothing, you can't cancel and it's too late to find another hotel. I think that this hotel doesn't respect it's guests. Better not to stay there at all.

it is very impressive from the outside but the rooms are a bit old.

The actual accommodations are extremely tired; it looks like not much has been invested since the hotel opened, maybe 50 or 60 years ago. The five-star rating may reflect a lot of event facilities, but my room was well below that. Front desk staff initially miscopied the wifi code, requiring a trip back to sort it out. I also found a locked gate when I tried to go out in the early evening, and had to chase down staff who were on break. My minibar had liquor bottles that had been tampered with (probably refilled with water).

The hotel has a spectacular setting in a former monastery at the historic heart of Popayan; the cloisters and view from the street are picturesque and impressive. Staff were pleasant, with some English spoken. The included breakfast was quite good, a mix of a buffet and cooked egg dishes. My room on the upper floor had a private patio. Some of the center's better restaurants were close by, and all the main sights are an easy walk. The airport is barely a five-minute ride away.

very disapointing!!! from first second to the last. restaurant service... no one looks at you, so i had to go and look in the kitchen for help. breakfast...they just forgot they dont have gas. electricity in the room did not work well...3 times a technition came and solve nothing!!! calientador was broken...3 times they brought one that did not work and as a last thing...the guy from reception which was the worse in my life was wrong...with the change...obviously i never got the invoice like in any hotel. i tried to communicate the manager....never got back to me. worse dann in colombia for sure (been to medellin and bucaramanga)

Two nights of loud on-site music till 3am - seriously?! The staff forgot the airport pickup they were supposed to arrange; no apology. Showers were temperamental. There’s no bar in such a beautiful setting!

Avoidable noise, letting down all clients’ sleep. Plus the lie, not mentioning while checking-in the happening to be held next day!

I was happy the first day but then… PARTY! A super noisy 15s Party was organized in the hotel without any prior advice and the full hotel went on fire! Amazing how such a big hotel can neglect all its costumers organizing these kind of events, letting almost everybody without sleeping… I would have appreciated to be signaled at least during checking-in. Eventually, I could have looked for another hotel for that night.
