I wish the room had more hooks and/or some sort of counter-space or cubbies to place things on that didn’t need to be in the lockers.

The view from the room of the mountains surrounding Salento was exceptional - one of the best we have ever had from a hostel or hotel. Chill atmosphere and friendly people too.

A little bit pricy - if the breakfast was included and there was a free towel (and a laundry rope , also to dry off clothes from after a hike as it rains pretty much every day a bit, which is not disturbing

What a great location. The view. The little garden. The dorms left of the reception are lovely and cozy, the other ones looked a bit cramped to me. No free towel. Very good Coffee, but only during breakfast time and after 3-4 pm for a bit

Great breakfast options (veg friendly) and amazing views, the staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the check in process, even were able to leave my laptop while touring the city.

The Views and social aspect

The view of the mountains and social aspects were great for this solo traveller. The facilities were clean, breakfast was excellent and staff were very helpful. Great place to stay!

Self catering kitchen needs an extra fridge for guests and an extra fry pan (there are lots of pots but only 1 fry pan). Would be great if guests could fill their own bottle with filtered water, rather than always having to ask behind the bar. I would still be happy to pay a fee for filter, just want to fill it myself.

Superior private room had a fab view and very clean, with option for cleaning service daily. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Hostel has lots of social activities (salsa, fruit tasting, yoga, music quiz) but also lots of private spaces (office, hammock) if you want to chill out. The wifi is good. The bar and restaurant serve delicious meals and are reasonably priced. There is also the option to cook your own meals, they even have a rice cooker, what a treat! Breakfast in the morning was always varied and delicious. Very close to the main square for getting Jeeps. They turn the music off at 10.30pm, so you can always get plenty of quiet and rest. Staff are super friendly and helpful with tours and local information. We didnt want to leave!

Reception desk could be more friendly. I sometimes felt that I am asking questions that they do not wanna be help with. It was not easy to have the 'friendly' vibe from them.

Our room was set in the corner side of the building and I would say we were lucky:) The view of the hostel is stunning.. We were staying in the room w/ balcony so we had a chance to watch the sunrise from our balcony however it is possible to have this view from any part of the hostel. The service of the bar for bfast or any other meals was on time always. As most of the people were quite early to be able to run for the tours they book, bfast times were very crawded and the service team could handle it. Hostel crew deserves points as they were eager to connect people in the hostel especially with the social events they organize. The location of the hostel is great; can be counted within the center but calm enough to be with the nature when needed.

The hostel has everything you need including a large area, where you can social with other travelers. What really stood out for me was the staff: Valen and Oscar from the reception team do an exceptional job and not only provided me with great tips but also let me practice my spanish with them. Same applies for Helena which happens to clean my dorm - her warm and welcoming personality really made my day and my stay at Viajero Salento very special - Muchas gracias, nos vemos!

The noise from the street is too much. My room was next to the parking lot. Even with personalized earplugs plus noise canceling headphones in I heard the screaming and whistles. Note: It’s not during night time.

Location 10/10, close to the city, bars/restaurants walking distance and amazing view. Especially the view is worth staying here.

No complaints, everything was great

It'e been a good few years since I stayed in a hostel but I loved Viajero in Salento, I had one of the private views which had incredible views over the valley. I booked it mainly to meet new people and Dani Ella did an amazing job with different events in the hostel and the guest Whatsapp group. Overall a really well run hostel in a great location

When they go 'head over heels' for foreigners from USA and Europe, why they not do that to others like me. They charged me some tax as I had a cedula ID. I stayed three nights in Salento, and other two properties(including Él Rancho', didn't charge me that, but these guys charge me extra for that, and I am actually a foreigner also :-). And, we stayed in independent room and not some bunk beds. So it costed a lot overall. Once in Jardin, a property took my passport softcopy and didn't charged me at all. But the gentleman with laptop at reception told us that - they make sure that the traveler visa is within 90 days less or something, and since I've cedula he will charge us. Not good, when others are not doing so. So, a bogus way to cheat money for sure. Another thing, the noise after 7:30PM is so loud that you can hear it inside the closed doors of the first room next to the restaurant/kitchen area. May be the reason why they give ear-buds in that room. I could clearly hear the constant chatter till late at night from inside. Finally , when you publish Viajero Salento Hostel' online and all over then why not keep the same name at the entrance. When we reached there, it was written in bold - CHAPOLA. Confusing for a new person.

Views were spectacular and sun-set and sun-rise views with those overcast clouds seen on mountain top are breathtaking. In-house restaurant is a bonus with good tasty all continental food, unlike the bland food outside in Salento. 7PM happy hour is also good for dual-cocktails with brazil touch. And, on top of it, very very cheap as well. Sitting area is damn good with views. The place is buzzing with tourists and travelers from all over the map. Very lively place.

The staff was incredible—shout out especially to Dani who was so welcoming and made it such a wonderful environment to stay at the hostel. It was my favorite accommodation of my trip to Colombia!

The view inside the hostel is amazing. The staff was very kind. You notice there is a good working atmosphere around the staff. The breakfast was very good. The location was very good. Just a few minutes from the plaza and the bus terminal.

Amazing property just a few minutes from the main Square. We were very happy to have found this hostel and wished to stay longer, but they were booked. We were in the private room with a balcony, and it was very worth the extra couple dollars!! They make navigating Salento very easy by providing all the information you could need. Very friendly staff with good English.
