Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The only thing is that the kitchen could do with a deep clean. Otherwise lovely space!
Located 5 min walk from the centre, lovely quiet hostel, super friendly staff that were happy to help with any excursions, could rent paddle boards/kayaks/do waterfall tours from the hostel at reasonable prices! We did the bike and hike waterfall tour with Emiliano and Ron and had a great time! Private rooms were very clean, lovely balcony and view of the lake from our room. Really nice Thai restaurant at the 3rd floor! The wall artwork is amazing!

it’s a little bit away from down town but it’s a quite part of town, not t sure if you can get better than this, the views in the morning just owe some

nothing physically, the price per night was just too high for the room.
good location, outside of the center but still all walkable within 5 minutes. great shower. friendly staff. the Thai restaurant at the 3rd level was great.

There was a mixup with my laundry - I left my clothes at the reception at 9am for them to be washed, and it was supposed to be ready by 4pm. I went to pick it up at night, and they hadn't washed them, probably the guy at reception forgot them. Still a good hostel, but when you're traveling with limited clothes, this is a problem. I took to another laundry place in Guatape that was cheaper and had my clothes washed and dryed in 2 hours.
The hostel is excellent, comfortable beds, clean, good breakfast and in general a very nice place to be at.

Kitchen appliances were not that great - pans, knives, ustensils.
The receptionists were super helpful and ready to answer any qiestionsbi had. The beds were comfy and everything was clean.

The vibe here is great. Very easy to meet new friends. There are also a lot of activities to do - with reasonable price, so I never get bored here. Since the new bar is just open, they also offer a shot for free. And the last, the staff are so friendly. Will def come back :)

Only thing would be to maybe have quiet times downstairs, we were next to this area, the walls were very thin and loud.
Very clean hostel, went to the Thai restaurant for evening food which was delicious. Staff were very helpful, organised kayak hire for us, changed my booking dates with no problems.

I totally liked this place, nothing I did not like.
Excellent place, beautiful, good vibes, nice staff, great common areas with hummocks, lounge, games, and big tables. We took the private room with balcony over the main street. Spacious, comfy, great shower, and bed. I would definitely recommend this place.

I wish I could have stayed longer
Really comfortable and clean. I had a private room with a balcony overlooking the lake which was very pretty. The room was spacious with everything I needed. The hostel is just a short walk to the main centre and lake and easily accessible to La Piedra. I really enjoyed my stay here

I thought there will be hot water in my shower. The rest was ok.

The hostel is at the shore, which is nice, and quiet. The private room was nice! The staff was also quite helpful and spoke a good amount of English.
