Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe dorm room was cramped and had lots of imperfections. The bed and pillow weren’t that comfortable. Half the lockers were broken. There was a shortage of towels so it was extremely hard to get one. The toilet stalls were extremely small. Some of the staff was not the best and didn’t appear to enjoy their job, which they made known in their curt interactions with customers.

United KingdomNot a property that felt very clean. The bathrooms were gross and always super busy. We were in the 5 bed dorm and the bunks were very rickety and there was no rails on the top so you felt like you were going to role off when the person below got in. There was a single bed half way over the bathroom door - the guy sometimes slept in a hammock because he got disturbed so much.
Staff are lovely and communal areas are nice but the rest was lacking

United StatesService was a bit slow. When you order they took a while or forgot but it's understandable since there's a lot of people asking for things att once.
Overall good experience. Everyone that worked there was super nice and always willing help or give insight which is needed if you're in Colombia for the first time. Dancing classes were super fun. They have a lot of patience and are really good. Just because it's a hostel and people are staying just like you doesn't mean you shouldn't make an effort to talk to others. Make an effort and you will enjoy yourself. I stayed in a single room so it wasn't that hot since it was just me. Would definitely consider coming back if I ever go back to Cali. A lot of local stuff around as well.

ColombiaMy expensive flip flop got stolen and other people claimed stuff got stolen from the storage room. And they won’t let you look at the cameras. When I check out they try to charge me for another breakfast that I didn’t eat and then they charge me 8500 because I asked to move to other room because the bad was full of bad bugs they claimed this room is more expensive after I talked with the people in this room they paid the same like me so it’s a scam and they didn’t want to return my money.

United KingdomThe WiFi doesn't work because of some issue with the local provider. Would be good to warn people about this in advance. The salsa teacher was quite rude with my girlfriend when she couldn't do the steps. Not great vibes for a beginner lesson.
It's a nice place, with a good pool and plenty of places to chill out. So a shame about the bad bits.

NetherlandsThe noise. If you like a party hostel, this is the place to go. If you want to relax, it isn't. Party in front of the room until 01.30. The bedroom has one window, but then everybody can look in your room from the hostel (garden). Wifi didn't work, which isn't a huge problem. But just say so while checking in, as we need wifi for an uber etc. Same for the warm water. The lamps next to the bed weren't working.
The hostel itself looks really nice with all the plants and if you wanna party it will be the right hostel for you!

BrazilThe check in wasn't fast, the room was very noise and bright at night. Also they didn't have internet at all, they gave me 10% discount because of it. But I had to pay a taxi to Starbucks to work. Which was way more than that. On my second night it rained and the water entered the entire room. It was 6am when I realized. My computer was on the locker under the bed and all my work equipment was flooded in water. I was crying and worried for all that morning and weekend. I think it was very irresponsible from their part to put people in a room that gets flooded when it rains. Everyone's baggage got wet. I heard from other staff that it wasn't the first time, and I guess will keep happening. They didn't move us from the room straight way. We had to beg for that, and at least I got moved to another room for the next night. I didn’t feel safe in that place, I had 2 books with me that got damaged by the water. All my clothes and shoes got wet from the water, which wasn't clean. They didn't even offer to wash it. Just to dried. And about my computer, that was the worse, they didn't pay anything regarding that. A lot of people were sick on my room. I don't know exactly if it was from mosquitoes, but I also got very sick 3 days later. Just like the people who were sick there. They charged me for the 3 nights of nightmare, so. I had an horrible time, lots of inconveniences, and still paid for it. I booked one private salsa class with them and the instructor were late. There are many hostels in Cali, I made a bad choice and had a bad experience. That could have been way better somewhere else for even a better price. I would Not recommend the hostel.
I would not recommend this hostel. The location is great, and breakfast, but apart from that it was the worse hostel experience I have ever had.

AustraliaThe employees are not very motivated (some are really nice). The thing that was REALLY and I mean really bad is that you can hear everything in the hotel also in your room because there are no actual glass windows, just shutters. Because of that you also hear everything your neighbors are doing…even the stuff you don’t want to hear.
The hotel itself is well located, very close to salsa clubs. Cali is a high crime city, so no matter where you are you need to be careful.

BelgiumA few things could be improved. Stayed 3 nights in the deluxe double room to rest a bit while sick. The room has no windows so gets extremely hot and stuffy, ended up having the door open at night to get air in, really not ideal. The WiFi was not functioning the entire time, no explanation given. The laundry service was quite messy and unprofessional. Was told during check in that it was same day and I could drop off clothes in the mornings. I show up at 10am the first morning and they tell me it’s too late and to come again tomorrow at 8am. No problem. The next day I make sure I wake up in time and hand it in, but turns out the clothes weren’t ready until the next day. Half the clothes were returned around 10am with an extra shirt that wasn’t mine. The other half was ready at 12 (after check out). Cherry on the cake was when someone knocked on the door to tell me to get out because the hostel was being fumigated. Barely had time to get dressed and leave while they already started (I did not receive previous warning). Also would really not recommend the food at the restaurant. The breakfast included was okay though if you like eggs, if not, it’s one piece of untoasted sliced bread and 4 pieces of fruit.
Private and group salsa classes offered onsite for decent prices and the pool is refreshing

United KingdomBooking mix up so went from a reserved 5 room to a 12. The 2.5x increase in room mates was not reflected as a 2.5x price decrease. Luckily the room is large and in principle, areas to store items so it didn't feel super crowded. Spoke to 2 different staff members and they said they'd pass on the comments/ speak to their boss but saw no resolution. Not clean enough in communal areas. Bathrooms- just 2 toilets and showers so they need to be regularly attended to. One of the shower hot taps broke and it wasn't repaired whilst I was there. Bathroom bins always full and without a lid which I hate- not everyone wants to see everyone else's business! Not emptied regularly. I've stayed at many hostels and they either have dedicated cleaners who actually tidy and clean communal bathrooms and kitchens regularly or the staff members such as receptionists, night staff etc. help to clean. It's not enough to clean/ empty bins just at 8am when it's a bar/ restaurant that everyone can use. When I asked for the bins to be emptied, they were emptied from the toilet into the bin where you put paper towels after washing your hands- another full bin and s*** closer to you! Rubbish is stored on site outside the kitchen and builds up throughout the day so when you sit in the corner to eat, you see rubbish bags in plain view. The fridge is the size you'd have at a family home. Always rammed and no system to know who's food is who's or if the guests are still there and want to use it. The kitchen staff also store food that will be sold to customers in the freezer area of the communal fridge and freezer. For hygiene/ cross contamination that system was odd and shouldn't be allowed. Impossible to find cutlery or plates in the kitchen, you need to ask behind the bar. If you're advertising there's a shared kitchen; it needs to be accessible. Rooms- absolutely nowhere to hang anything.
Lovely hostel setting - yoga area, hammocks, pool etc. are all very welcoming. A couple more sun loungers would be ideal. Very sociable with the onsite bar/ restaurant and organising the daily activities. Often people will leave together for events so it feels safer. The salsa classes are amazing and the teacher Stephen was great; his way of teaching means everyone in large group classes can improve, he's fun and inclusive of all abilities. Staff are communicative and listen to what you're saying but don't necessarily act on it unfortunately. Breakfast was good value and tasty- 8,000 for eggs, cereal, fruit etc.

United KingdomWhat follows should probably be taken in isolation to all other reviews as i guess i was just unlucky and lots of people had stayed a while and loved it.. So was only going to be in town one night so decided to treat myself to a private deluxe room with en suite as was intending to get up and leave early the next morning. Woke up around 6 ish in the morning and the room smelled pretty bad, the drains in many of the rooms backed up overnight and flooded the rooms with sewage so everything on the floor was morecthan a little wet and a bit buggered! Sods law i guess thst the only vlothes i had in a dry bag were my dirty clothes waiting to be washed 🤦♂️ By the time everything got sorted it was to late for the bus so had to book into another hostel for the night as they were full 🤔 Staff were great and cleaned and sorted everything. Might have been nice to have been offered a voucher for a free night or something in the future as would stay again if in town, maybe my Spanish is not great enough to engage in those types of conversations. Oh and maybe a side topic but before all of the above I did think maybe for what I paid a towel might have been nice.
Staff super friendly and helpfull. Helped with free cleaning of clothes and equipment with what follows in the "what didn't I like" section. 🤷♂️

KenyaThe shower wasn't really warm and the water pressure was not the best. The price for a room for 1 person was a bit high compared with other accommodations in Cali. When I extended my stay they tried to charge me a higher price than the price on booking even though they didn't have to pay thr commission anymore.
My room was big and cozy. The breakfast was nice. I loved the free salsa classes in the evening and the yoga class they offered. Great place to meet people and have a fun time in Cali especially when you are traveling alone. The hostel was nice and had nice facilities. I could borrow a yoga mat and exercise in the mornings 😊

Bulgaria1. Before booking I asked and they said they can offer me a place to work that is quiet, without music. Not quite. When I checked in and asked I was told they have a space they “sometimes land” to the people who work and if I need it I should come and ask. When I did it turned out the place they were talking about was their salsa school and apparently I could use it only if there were no classes at that time. Obtaining permission to use it took too long so I had to go back to my room to take the important call with some loud reggaeton for background (the music from the bar is always very loud). 2. I booked the deluxe double room but the one I got was the standard. 3. I used their laundry service once and they lost several of my socks. They were able to dig out only one of the missing ones.
The place is beautiful, the staff is very kind and helpful, and there are nice activities. They have free salsa classes and often times take the whole group out to salsa dancing places. The WIFI was working very well and the speed was great.
