Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe music was too loud for our taste. It was more of a party hostel at all than what we were going for. The kitchen was big, but there were barely any plates/pans/cutting boards/ etc.
Beds were very chill and spacious and with the temperatures in Cartagena, a pool was great too, even if it's not that big. Nice garden to hang out in and great location in the old town. Hostel also has fun activities like a pub crawl, only we didn't get to join that.

The stuff is nice and kind, there's a pretty exterior common area, and the location is quite good, 5 min walk to Torre del Reloj

GreeceThe rooms do not lock! All rooms are left with the door open at all times. Sharing a room with six people is one thing, but being in a room where everyone in a hostel (or the city for that matter, since they never checked my wristband as I was entering) has access to is a different story. Nothing bad happened but I just wasn't very comfortable sleeping, knowing that anyone could enter at any point without a key. (There is actually an option to lock the room only from the inside, but obviously that does not work, since other people staying there would need to come in). On a similar note, their luggage storage also does not lock and the door is left wide open all day so everyone can come in and out and nobody checks. Definitely did not feel safe leaving valuables there before check in and after check out. AC is only on from 8.30 pm to 9 am, even though they charge extra for rooms with AC. This means that there is no place to cool down during the day. They should have at least a paid option to have the AC on in the room during the day Bathrooms were an issue as well. The bathroom attached to our room (shared between two rooms) was not great. They did not even provide soap for the sink, the showers did not really drain very well so there was always water on the floor, there is no place to hang your towel or clothes, there were tons of ants going up and down the shower wall and overall, was not pleasant, which was unfortunate in a city so hot that you want to shower multiple times per day. I also did see a cockroach walking around the patio. There are more bathrooms close to the pool but again, not great. Overall, I had a perfectly pleasant stay but if the other people staying in the hostel do not end up being as lovely as my hostel-mates were, it could be a different story. The overall lack of locked rooms and the bathroom situations would be enough reason for me to find a different hostel next time I am there.
The location is perfect! In the heart of Getsemani with tons of restaurants, bars and street food options. Convenient for uber pickup and drop off. Walking distance (=-10 minutes) to both the walled city and the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. Exactly where you want to be staying. Breakfast was nice with eggs, arepas or toast, and fruit and juice. Portions could be bigger but it was free, freshly made, hot breakfast so a great way to start the day. Just note that you sign up and they make it for you on the spot so it is a 10-15 minutes wait. This is not a complaint at all, just a note so everyone can plan their morning accordingly The room had big lockers (for which you need your own lock) and was clean. The temperature of the AC room was perfect (definitely spend the extra dollars for AC, trust me you need it), curtains on the bed give a ssense of privacy, there is an outlet right next to the bed. The patio is also lovely with a small swimming pool and sitting space. Wifi was perfect. Stuff was nice as well. Loved the hostel cat!

CanadaI did not like one of the women in my Dorm she was Chilena. She complained about almost everyone in the dorm and they were stupid complaints. She acted like she was entitled. It was not Medial Luna s fault I just happen to get stuck with her in that dorm opposite her bunk. However there were a lot of other cool people in the dorm. She also verbally abused me and gave me the finger while and when I was eating my Carne especial peacefully at the church square with my friend. I wrote about here in a previous review while at Media Luna. Management admonished her about her behavior in the dorm but unfortunately for me I ran into here after I moved to another hostel and she berated me for telling the truth in the review. So I guess her behavior confirmed what I already knew. Call her a Chilenian Karen.
Great place to meet backpackers. The pool was great and breakfast was good and I met a Finnish lady who was the most energetic and coolest dancer that I have ever hung out with.

GermanyWe had ants all over our beds, but after pointing it out we got taken to a new room immediately. The hostel itself didn’t seem very social, so maybe not best for solo travelers.
The hostel itself is really nice. The pool was nice, so was the breakfast. The location is a little outside of the town, but still really good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bedrooms seem a little outdated but were actually quite comfortable. The air condition worked well too.

Dominican RepublicYou have loud music all the time. The climate is really hot. The fans don't work properly so it is really difficult to get to sleep at such hot temperatures. The air conditioners are too small for such spaces. They only turn them on after 9pm, but it is too hot that you came feeling it around 4am
The location is great. The staff is really helpful.

Francethe clients of the hostel were very dirty, everywhere, the hostel should give more reccomendations and restrictions forcing people to be clean.. AC as to be regulated in order not to be too cold, if you ask they do it friendly.

SpainIt's forbidden to drink your own beer/alcohol on the territory of hotel and alcohol of the hotel is crazy expensive.. That definitely destroys the vibe inside because people just go out to hang out at night and in the end there is not much socializing because there is no people in the evenings in the hotel.
Breakfast was really nice with 5 options to choose, I loved it ;) also. Ping pong table and discount for the pizzeria for the clients of hotel

SwitzerlandGot very sick from breakfast the second day, diarrhea and vomiting. Most staff was super inattentive. You'd ask them a question, they didn't know but promise to find out in 10 minutes. Half an hour later, I went by again but they'd forgotten. This happened twice. And sometimes while they're talking to you, they start doing other random stuff such as talk to other people. Some staff was very good though.
Much space in beds, location is perfect.
