Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Not a thing to dislike about this place!
This was such a lovely hostel experience. I loved my private room in the very top floor of the house. The kitchens were super clean. The shared bathroom was also super clean. Host was lovely, she gave me a bunch of good recommendations.

A table lamp close to the bed would be a great addition cause it was a bit dark at night. The rest was perfect.
Great hostel for its price, good location a bit further from the busy city center but still close enough. The owner gave us amazing tips on where to go in the city, and where to eat and helped to organize transportation.

During my stay I felt like at home. The staff and the owners were very attentive, willing to help and friendly. The place itself is just amazing with great design, comfy beds and functional kitchen. I can highly recommend it and definitely would stay there again ❤️

The hotel's design is really nice and it is a great place to relax and slow down. Its proximity to the bus stop and to restaurants and shops makes it a perfect place to stay. And the staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely come back!

I actually didn't mind, but there were no lockers in the room. The town is really safe, so this is not an issue for me, but just fyi.
The place was really nice and well located, just a couple of blocks from the bus station and the city center. It was also beautifully decorated and the owners were very nice. I felt comfortable at all times,

The bed was very uncomfortable. The room I stayed in was on the top floor. There was a window up high in the room that couldn’t be reached or opened so it was stuffy all the time. Putting a fan in the room would help. My first night I was woken up at 3:15am by LOUD music. There are nicer places to be found in town, ones with patios, flowers, breakfast.
It’s nice enough. It’s clean. It’s close to the bus terminal and a short walk to the main plaza.

The first night we didn't have hot water, we called the staff and were told to wait about 15 mins for the hot water to come, but it never did. The other days we didn't have a problem. The bed sheets and blankets carried a lot of static since they were of synthetic material.
The staff was really friendly, and Ximena gave us several tips on where to go and what to do which were excellent. The hostel had a cozy, quiet vibe, the location was very near the bus terminal and close to the city center.

Shower was very poor (constantly running hot to cold). Super noisy from 7am onwards despite there being no breakfast, which I found strange.
The place is really clean and in the centre of the town. Towels included, comfy beds and some cooking facilities upstairs available to guests. The place was very nicely decorated considering it was quite cheap. They had books and a swing and space to be out of your room.

No hostel vibe at all. Hostel was mostly empty and there aren't any good common areas to hang out even if people were there. The WiFi is terrible. (And there are other places with good WiFi, so this is not because you're in a mountain town.) Almost no hot water for 2 out of the 3 days I was there. Impossible to get a good night of sleep. The windows don't really seal when closed, so noise from the street is as loud as if the windows were wide open, and there is a LOT of noise starting early in the morning. Also, one of the windows has nothing covering it, so light streams into the room shortly after sunrise. The blankets on the bed are light enough to be machine washable, BUT they don't wash them in between guests. I have a shaved head, and yet I repeatedly found long hairs on my sheets, thanks to the unwashed blanket. Disgusting. No lockers and even the room door can't be locked. The people working in the hostel, and their friends, were by far the loudest people in the hostel. This was them doing their own thing in the hostel - it did not include the guests.
Mostly clean (aside from the unwashed blanket - see below). Peaceful (although there's no vibe at all - see below). Pretty good location just a couple of blocks from the main part of town.

I didn't notice beforehand the room had a slanted roof. Should have known from the pictures, but I couldn't stand anywhere. Also the room misses a few essentials, like a mirror, bedside lamp (or at least a bedside light switch) and a waste bin.
Location is very conveniently close to the bus terminal.

This place felt like coming home. The property is beautiful and the kitchen super well equipped. I’ve never seen a place that is as clean as this, really an eye for detail. They even make up your bed every day. Overall, one of the best hostels I’ve stayed during my trip.
