The bathroom could be improved, it was very hard to keep it clean/dry. it would be lovely to have a kitchen for the guests to use (especially for breakfast)

this hostel is ideally located, the family room is spacious and the beds are very comfortable + they had very good mosquito nets. The hostel is quiet and peaceful.

The owner is absolutely lovely. It’s a new business and she’s clearly very passionate about it and making your stay as good as possible, going out of her way in lots of little ways more established places wouldn’t. The location is fantastic, right on the beachfront and the dorm window is just metres from the shoreline - that’s pretty special. It’s a quiet little place with not many backpackers, so a welcome respite from palomino. You can hop in the river next door for a swim, and watch the sunset and sunrise. A great little stay!

Do not recommend. I arrived and there was no electricity or water. Thankfully it came back but then at night they turned off the water. There wasn't even water to brush your teeth. The rooms are extremely hot, they only have two very basic mini fans that don't reach everybody for an 8-bed room. The bathrooms are also extremely uncomfortable. Just stay anywhere else on the area.

Location is good, aside from that I do not recommend it at all.

Room is very dark and small, whole building has been overshadowed by a large new build right beside the accomodation which is not pictured (and no fault of the owners). we had a seperate booking a few days later with free cancellation still (a couple nights between bookings), but they tried to make us pay for all the nights before we got inside. We then decided to leave the beach and head elsewhere for the second booking period, cancelled the booking within the allowed timeframe and owner became rude. They then refused to let us keep our spare luggage at the accomodation, which seemed spiteful. Don’t have a free cancellation policy if you are going to get upset when people utilise it.

Wish we had a hammock, the hammock chairs where good but hang low almost reaching the ground. But nothing wrong couldn't adjust ourselves.

They speak really fast (my Spanish skills were not quite there) and check in overall was a bit confusing. We had a power failure all day and the owners left the reception without notifying anyone. So we were pretty much left there without power and without a number to contact anyone. Luckily power returned before the night, but as no one was here anymore, we couldn't use the wifi. Also no soap on the toilets, some people didn't have blankets. If you want to stay in this area, I'd recommend booking asap and a different accommodation, as compared to other hostels here, you don't get as much comfort etc!

The hostel is really close to the river, which is where you can really swim, we switched to a room with balcony and it is great to enjoy the sea view from the hammock, staff is very friendly and they had wifi available

Marisol allowed me to change my booking dates very flexibly and went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. When I arrived late one night and all the restaurants had already closed, she shared her own food for me, which was a beautiful gesture. If you need internet, Marisol will share her hotspot with you. She is a very open, helpful and kind person!

I arrived in the late afternoon and was soon told that at night, the hostel is left unattended from around 5pm onwards until 8am the next morning. This means that there is no staff or security, you’re basically left on your own. same night, I was the only guest and there was a huge storm. Due to the heavy winds one of the lights outside of my room fell from the ceiling and was hanging from a cable dangling around in the rain. I turned it off and saw how the electric system is built - which is rather concerning.. I am fully aware that I booked a wooden cabin on the beach and that it comes with humidity, noise, insects etc. But with the storm it started raining inside the room on top of my bed (I previously spent 10 days in a hut with a ceiling made of palms in the Amazon rainforest and not once it rained inside..) The next day Mariana was so kind to put me in the other private room. When I went to bed at night, I realized that the mattress was really humid from the rain the night before but because there is no one from the staff at night I couldn’t do much about it. I decided to give it one more try but the third night the mattress was still clam. In addition I opened the mosquito net which smelled terribly and couldn’t be used. That room doesn’t have a fan (the first room where I was supposed to stay has a little fan but no mosquito net.) After the third sleepless night I decided to leave early and kindly ask for a refund of the previously paid two more nights. I was told that I had booked a wooden hut on the beach and that nature is hard to control - fair enough. But one can make sure that the roof and the walls protect from the rain so that it doesn’t rain inside. Also, the floors of the private rooms that are above the dorms have small holes, which means that all the sand or dust from above automatically fall into the dorm and the beds that are below. The bathrooms in the private rooms have seen better days.

The host Mariana is adorable and super helpful. She is super attentive to details and will make you feel welcome. In terms of location it’s perfect, directly on the beach.

Highly recommend I really liked the staff at the place, welcomed me and four other friends with a big heart took care of us everything we needed and even more, a quiet and calm family place near the strip of cabins even let us check out at a later time
