Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe small room downstairs is very humid, after two nights it starts to get uncomfortable as nothing really dries
Had a really good experience in this posada, the staff is super friendly, pristine facilities, good breakfast, awesome location and always fresh coffee, what else can someone ask for?

United KingdomBreakfast was better than most we’ve had in Colombia but a little more variety would make it absolutely perfect.
All of the staff were so lovely and friendly. The room was great - loved the decor, felt like you were in someone’s home rather than a hotel. Plenty of space for bags etc and still space to sit either at the little table or on the sofa. Bed was extremely comfortable. Great location in centre of town. Recommend taking the larger queen room as it’s up stairs so opens onto a balcony rather than onto communal courtyard. Also lots of windows so plenty of light.

NetherlandsThe bed is extremely hard! But this seems to be the standard in Colombia.
The location is great and the staff is helpful. The breakfast is also good. Parking is close and private.

United StatesI have no issues with this establishment at all.
Posada Martha Tolima is the hidden gem of Salento! Our room was creatively decorated, clean and spacious...very unique and comforting and great bed. You climb a colorful tiled spiral staircase to get to the second floor with an open balcony to view the back court scenery. You can also breakfast or work from the second floor with a view. Breakfast is individually prepared each day from a list of 10 meals selections. It's fast and good and their coffee is some of the best that I have had in Colombia. The staff is super friendly and helped w lots of our questions and were particularly helpful with our transportation issues, This place is more of a home than hotel. We felt very safe and welcomed here. They have a common den for just hanging out or relaxing with a book, laptop or cleaning your cell phone, The WiFi was great throughout. There are collections hanging everywhere. We particularly liked the wide display of ceramic Colombian churches. . Logistically, they are 1 1/2 blocks from the Town Square, just far enough away from any noise or traffic which was modest at best. We would return here in a heartbeat and highly recommend a stay here.

United StatesBreakfast starts at 7:30 and is made one at a time, so if you have activities planned that start early, on-side breakfast may not be a viable option for you. Pillows are not very comfortable - too thin for back sleepers and too springy to stack together. Dim lighting in the bathroom - not really fit for shaving. The hostel is pad locked for the night, so you need to flag down a staff member with the key to enter and exit during off-hours.
Great location (quite relative to the other parts of town, but close to everything), artsy room decor, oscillating fan to circulate the air in the room, tasty breakfast, very friendly staff (but practice your Spanish - no English is spoken).

United StatesThe top blanket had a bit of an unpleasant smell to it.
Super comfortable bed. The shower was awesome and didn’t run out of hot water. The location was great, right off the main Square but still super quiet at night. The main guy at the front desk was very nice. There was a language barrier, but he was very patient until I could understand. Nice breakfast menu with great food.

United StatesThe only little thing was that we couldn’t refill our water bottles there. We could buy water but we’re trying to not use as much plastic. However there was plenty for making coffee or tea at the hotel.
They were incredibly welcoming, the hostel decorations were cute and the room was large and comfortable, much bigger than it looked in the pictures. It was a great location, just down the hill from the main square on a quieter side street. They gave us a huge book full of things to do in Salento and told us about the Santa Rita waterfall which we’d never heard of before but ended up being a great day hike. Breakfast was very good also. I actually miss this place and wish we could have stayed longer.

ItalyThere was a misunderstanding as I thought to have booked a room with a patio. What is called patio, is basically the indoor room where you take the breakfast and the window of that bedroom was looking into it (basically, not a real window). I managed to have it changed and I was assigned to room facing the street which was just perfect.
Martha is a superwoman who goes the extra mile to make her guest happy, the same as the her staff. The room was small but nicely decorated. Towels and linen were changed daily, which I wasn't expecting it. The room is spotless, as it is the whole place. Hot shower (apparently not so common in Colombia). I definitely recommend her posada and I wish to Martha and her staff all the best.

RussiaI truly enjoyed my stay at this pretty B&B and Salento itself! The owners were so nice, helpful and welcoming that I had that wonderful feeling that I was visiting my family. The breakfast was nice and very homey. They even gave me the boots and the rain poncho for the Cocora valley hike. I definitely recommend that place because of its owners, perfect location (close to the centre and the bus station), value for money and a very warm feeling :)
