We absolutely loved our 5 nights at Punta Faro. The place is tastefully designed and easily blends in with the natural beauty of the island. There are plenty of deck chairs, loungers and hammocks to enjoy the private beach and the lovely sunsets with a happy hour cocktail in hand. Plenty of water activities to do from diving, snorkelling, kayaking and a night trip to see fitoplankton (magical, not to be missed). We stayed in a garden view room and found it very comfortable and big enough for our family of 3. Great food with fresh fish and seafood everyday. Best of all was the management and the staff who made us feel very welcome and were very receptive to the needs of our small son. We can’t wait to be back.

A few minor things -As people who don’t speak Spanish, it was a bit overwhelming for us to communicate in the restaurant. I felt the whole concept of the staff putting food on a plate for you in a buffet (even for breakfast) was a bit too much. I also felt it sometimes led to food waste as I would have put myself less food than the staff did. -Considering overall price range in Colombia, the hotel is definitely in the higher end. -Electricity would turn off some time between 6am and 7am, wifi was on and off

It was one of the best hotels we ever stayed! Food was great, staff was amazing, the whole mentality of peace and quiet was really appreciated. The location is 2 hours away from Cartagena on their own boat. The island is a paradise! Highly recommended!

Could have more of/some focus on fresh seafood for the meals because if it’s location. Some occasional ambient music would also be nice. Cocktails etc more readily available, we would have spent more money there in all honesty if they were.

Loved it, the location is outstanding. The cabana room we had was stunning. Staff were super helpful and friendly.

Go to Hotel Punta Faro if you can! It has a wonderful sandy beach where you can snorkel. The staff make a huge effort to make you welcome. They set up dinner in a different location around the grounds every night. The food was delicious. There weren't too many choices, which meant that I don't think too much food was wasted. The Happy Hour bar is right on the waterfront where you can look at turtles and watch the sunset. The rooms are comfortable. and the hotel buildings are all attractive and spread out around the grounds. The highlight was definitely the location though, with palm trees and beautiful sea views everywhere you look. Jose on the boat ride over and back was very friendly and helpful.

All activities except for the boat tour were not included in the price of the hotel, which is usually the case for this standing of hotels. Even tuba masks and kayaks had to be paid for.

Complete disconnect from the world. Little piece of Paradise in the middle of the ocean. Perfect for relaxing and procrastinating. The staff (especially Ingrid) and service are just great. The food is amazing with a lot of local options that we loved. The setting is beautiful, amazing views and very private. No music, very premium environment. Our room was right on the sea, we woke up with the sun every morning. There were several activities available and we chose the night snorkelling. We had a magical moment swimming in the mangroves at night with the fluorescent phytoplankton (organised by Mucura travel). An experience to remember.

Just keep in mind that the island is off the grid so you may need to conserve water and most all items / food come from the mainland.

The property was a lovely slice of tropical paradise away from the city and incredibly quiet. The no-music policy and limited activites made for a restful atmosphere and the food was well done especially considering this is a very small remote island. However, their internet connection was very solid and fast for an island which was nice and unexpected. We appreciated the local boat excursion and spent a lot of time in their hammocks right by the beach. The resort is fairly small and didn’t feel busy when we were there.

Honestly - not much, everything was perfect. If I had one comment it would be to play music ad maybe put in a fresh water pool but honestly, the hotel is beautiful and one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to in my life! This includes visiting Hawaii and Bora Bora. The owner did a great job designing the hotel , maintaining it for the past 23yrs, hiring an awesome staff and keeping it in prestige shape! Very well done, me and my group everyday were in awe of the hotel and truly enjoyed it.
