Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. in the private hut there was no where to lock valuables. would be useful to have a safe or somewhere lockable
beautiful surroundings but close to the town. Great pool to cool off in and the staff were helpful to arrange trips and give advice on what to do in the area

They charge 3000 cop per person mandatory extra fee for coffee and water. The breakfast is good but small. On weekends they have live music in the bar which is super loud in the rooms. We had ear plugs but could still hear the music at midnight. No air conditioning.
The room was clean and spacious. The pool and bar area is very nice, more like a hotel than a hostel. The breakfast is very nice, maybe just a little too small. The position is easy walking distance to town but far enough away that it's not too loud. Staff are very friendly.

i was told i would get 50% off my stay if i booked a tour with your partner. then bc i did the booking on Booking.com they said they wouldn't honor that. i don't think that is right/fair.

We had a small mishap with the bathroom but it was resolved quickly

The pool was full of dead bugs - was ok once we cleaned most of them away though

Food was a bit on the expensive side, and the portions for breakfast are small.
The hostel is on a beautiful plot of land, it feels like you are at a 5 star resort. The employees and volunteers are very friendly and welcoming, especially Mario, Miguel and Dobby!

The private bathroom we had didn’t have any light/electricity.
Beautiful place!! The location is very central so you can walk to restaurants and bars etc just a few minutes walk away. The breakfast was nice.

Best hostel I’ve stayed in Colombia! Huge pool in a beautiful backyard next to the river. Delicious pancakes for breakfast. I cannot recommend this place enough

the cabin we stayed in was a little bit overpriced, given the facilities

We understand that there is no electricity in the whole town but we didn’t have electricity for 2 days and it was a bit of struggle to charge anything or take a shower as there is no light in the whole place.
Beautiful place, amazing staff (Kosta, Mario, Sophia, Natalia), very peaceful (5min walk from the main road). Food is really tasty. The place is very big and has direct access to the river which you can hear also during the night. Swimming pool is big and very nice.

Shared showers were cold and dark, with lighting that wouldn’t have been noticeable until it was pitch black. Toilets were far from the eco-lodge. Mosquito nets stank of sweat and were full of holes.
Had amazing hang out spots close to the river, lots of day activities available and free breakfast

we stayed in a hut. everything got damp. clothes and it was very hard to sleep at night because bed got damp. they said there was hot shower but it often didn’t work and it was cold.

we asked several times to fix the door in the bathroom. i stayed 2 nights and it was still issuing.
great place, direct at the river, beautiful garden. Jay made it special, thanks for all the advices and the tour in the town.

The bathrooms in the dorms are moldy. It's an unacceptable health hazard.
The grounds are beautiful in a natural setting with birds everywhere. Lots to explore.
