The downside and this was a big one for us is that it is extremely noisy. The hotel is surrounded by open air bars and the street on the side of it has street vendors with speakers playing till 3/4am every night. We had an internal facing room and sadly we didn't sleep at all the three nights we were there, which is the main reason we haven't scored this hotel as an excellent. If you ask for an additional card key they charge you which is a little odd for a programmed card key. The breakfast was great but there were no menus out so on our first day we didn't realise we could order anything other than the cereal and fruit that was out on the bar. We ended up asking the staff after seeing other guests with plates of food. It would be nice if they handed you a menu and explained when you sat down or maybe left it on the table.

The hotel is beautiful, much nicer than the pictures and the rooms are very clean, it definitely exceeded our expectations. The staff are polite and friendly, the breakfast was very good and the rooftop space is great. The location is right in the heart of the old town so next to everything.

nice clean room, large TV, nice hot shower, pool area really nice. staff were very friendly however the room is incredibly noisy due to club nearby, even with good quality earplugs it was very loud. myself and my partner were both unwell so we had to stay in the room all day but there was very very loud building work going on (constant banging all day)

You have to be really aware that you are in the absolut center of nightlife!

If you want to be in the vivid center of Getsemani it's the right place to be. We had a double room with Queensize Bed big windows and a balcony. The room is very nice and spacious. As the famous Havanna Bar is oposite of the hotel you should go there for dancing till late!:) If not, the good, but extremely lood music till 4o'clock in the morning makes it difficult to sleep.

You just need to realise that Cafe Havana makes a lot of noise, so go over and party and only try to sleep after the party! Or you could try earplugs!

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Soy local insignia. It is located in the heart of Gestemani - a fantastic location. Given the location of the hotel, it gets quite noisy at in the evening - we didn't mind this too much. The hotel staff were friendly and allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel as we arrived before check-in and let use their toilet facilities and enjoy a welcome drink at their terrace bar. The hotel décor and room were beautiful! I would highly recommend this hotel.

I would recommend investing in some new cushions for the sun beds, current ones a little hard and outdated.

However not all rooms have warm water. One of our rooms was very small for 2 people and the other one was very humid (and smelled accordingly). The location is great, but it is quote lound all around, so the rooms are not very quiet.

Overall the stay was good, especially the location and the roof top pool. The rooms were very nice.

Right next to the most famous Cartagena night club - Havana. Don’t expect an early night on Thursday - Saturday.

The breakfast was inconsistent. Some days the omelet was cooked one way and some days it was cooked a different day. There was no hot water in the hotel. Maybe it stated that somewhere and I just didn't see it. If that is the case, then it is my bad. The tv stations didn't work either.

The location was excellent. The staff was attentive and the entire hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. I loved the rooftop pool and bar. The bed was really comfortable.

- we found out there was no hot water in the shower only after checking in (not a big deal since it’s hot in Cartagena but still worth knowing in advance) - music from the streets (we guessed we couldn’t get where exactly it was coming from) went on uninterrupted through the whole night until the morning

- the room was perfect although with no windows - toilet was perfect and came with towels and nice complimentary toiletries - all looked super clean - breakfast on the terrace was fine
