The hotel is historic with large rooms, high ceilings and lots of light. The best part was the exceptional friendly service provided by the manager, Francisco who catered to our every need.

This hotel is a gem inside Candelaria, the old town, of Bogota. It is a beautiful old building, lovingly restored and luxuriously furnished, very reasonably priced, and the most valuable asset is Francisco the manager, he helped us so much in our stay in Bogota, we had several problems with bookings that he helped us solve easily, it is the best place to stay in the old town of Bogota

The plumbing was a little iffy when it rains but that is barely a problem the building is old so it made sense, and nothing stopped working

Everything, the decor is beautiful as well as the property, the included breakfast was wonderful as well as the service. Front desk was super helpful and knowledgeable about the city

Beautiful hotel in the heart of historic La Candelaria. Room was large and beautifully decorated. Francisco, the receptionist/concierge/waiter/everything couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order and was plentiful and delicious. This hotel is a total gem.

It was very good. No complaints. Has an old world charm to the place. If you’re expecting very modern facilities then this may not be to your liking.

Francisco is a one man army who takes care of your every need. Super helpful and resourceful. The location is also central and the museum/ top sights are walkable.

Amazing place, the best staff, made us feel like home. Hotel has an incredible architecture, super clean and with an excellent attention to people. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely come back.

Don’t worry about the hot water in some of the previous posts. It works well, although you may have to wait a couple of minutes. It’s a small tribute to a wonderfully historic building.

Incredibly beautifully appointed rooms, maintaining the original character of the building while providing modern and luxurious facilities. Wonderful personal service and an excellent home cooked breakfast!

Francisco and Marta were amazing, helpful and welcoming. The location is very convenient for the sights and the historic center. The decor was beautiful and it was special being surrounded by such art.

This was an amazing hotel, right in the centre of Bogotá. The hotel itself is a really nice old building with interesting architecture. The staff are really nice and the breakfasts are great. One of the best hotels in Bogotá for sure.

Francisco and Marta are a national treasure. The duo run the entire operation at The Orchids and it feels like you have dedicated personal staff around the clock. It would not have been more possible for Francisco to be more kind and helpful, and to top it off, he is an amazing chef. Both him and Marta whip up delicious breakfasts. Thanks to them, was a comfortable and highly enjoyable stay in Bogota.

The hot water wasn’t great but we were warned.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (the Midsummer Nights Dream suite) was beyond beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast is made to order which was lovely, one morning it wasn’t great quality but the other morning delicious so possibly hit and miss. It’s in the perfect neighbourhood for sightseeing in Bogota and we felt pretty safe during the day but we didn’t venture out at night. The wifi was consistent in our room.

Nicolas and Marta always had an open ear, were incredibly nice, accommodating and helpful and made my stay an oasis of peace. What I also really liked was the interior design of the restored 18th/19th century hotel building and the rooms.

For us all was excellent. Do note however it's a historical building so it has a few quirks
