We LOVED this property and highly recommend it for any birders. There’s a tree line around the property where several species of birds were spotted by our son - most were lifers for him. The room was comfortable with AC and clean / comfy beds and bathrooms. The breakfast included a lesson in local fruits grown on the property and the chance to taste new ones - like Guapa. We were headed to an overnight tour at Corcovado National Park and this was a perfect place to stay for us.

The only slightly bad thing is that the hotel is not in town. You do have to drive to get to town.

The breakfast was very good and cooked fresh for each person. The room was clean and comfortable and the pool was small, but clean. I really liked the garden area and the large yard surrounding the property. Great for children to run in.

The budget room we rented has a private bath, but it's 15 meters away on the other side of the property. This is reflected in the price but not adequately disclosed, since booking doesn't have a data field for whether a private bath is attached or not. And the room itself is pretty bare, per the photos. It's a roughly 15-minute walk into town.

We loved the pool - gorgeous and warm after a 7 hour bus ride. Lovely sitting areas and hammocks next to it. The rooms around the pool were conveniently placed. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. The dining area and kitchen were clean and convenient too. We loved the friendly dog, cat and chickens. Stephanie was very friendly and helpful and gave us a lift to the ferry. We'd definitely return here.

Clean, comfortable, 10-12 minute walk to the dock for boats to Bahia Drake. Fully equipped common kitchen. Breakfast included. Stephanie, the owner, was helpful in every way.

The blankets or covers could be a bit larger on the beds. On a double bed my husband and I had to keep stealling the covers because neither of us had enough extending on our side. The covers barely extend over the edge of the bed. Pillows could also be a bit more comfortable. Otherwise our stay was very nice. The staff were very nice and helpful. No wifi but our mobile service worked so that was not an issue for us.

We had a room with Shared bathroom and had to cross the entire facility also during the night to get to the bathroom. Besides our room was next to the kitchen, so once they started prepare breakfast (also with music on) we were completely awake.

Nice stay around Sierpe, great host which was very welcoming and even gave us a lift to the boat dock the next morning as we did not have a car. spacious room with AC, and nice spot with hammocks alongside the Pool to wait for the boat to Bahia Drake.

We stayed here for 1 night to go from sierpe to drake bay and we loved it! The hosts were very helfull and kind and answered all of our questions! The rooms were very clean and big and the pool was a nice extra! I would definitely recommend to stay in this appartment !

This was a return night after staying on our way to Drake Bay-see previous review. What was nice was that we had had such a good stay on the night before our exciting trip to Drake Bay (do try to stay at El Encanto) that we were looking forward to another night which in no way proved to be a disappointment.

Slightly better quality pillows and towels would be nice but not expected at the incredibly reasonable price.

I think Hotel Crocodrilo undersells itself. It was much better than I was expecting it to be-the pictures on booking.com don't do it justice. It is a lovely calm place with lots of space and is incredibly good value. Birds are everywhere and to sit in one of the hammocks and listen to their song is a wonderful way to pass some of the day. The local bus dropped us outside the property where we received the most warm and friendly welcome from Stephany. She is full of joy and wanting you to feel at home as soon as you walk into the Crocodrilo. The rooms are quite large and basic but have all you need including really hot showers (not always the case in Costa Rica) and effective air conditioning. There is a warm pool to relax in and lovely grounds in which to sit. Breakfast was exceelent, very fresh and tasty. We walked into Sierpe which is only about twenty minutes away down a safe road as the town is the end of the road--we had good meals at Las Vegas. We were going to Drake Bay and Stephany both took us and picked up from the boat dock-that was so kind and so typical of her. She aslo stored some of our luggage as we were coming back for another night with her before the trip back to San Jose. If you are going to Drake Bay, stay here the night before and after you go. It is so well run and so reasonable!

A lovely quiet place in the countryside on the edge of town to spend the night before or after your visit to Drakes Bay. There is a clean pool, and hammocks in the shade in the garden to while away the time. Stephanie, the owner, is charming and could not have been more helpful; we left our car here while we visited Drakes Bay, and Stephanie dropped us off and picked us up from the boat
