Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe racoons! They were cute but from a distance, some were a little too friendly. Aside from that, everything was perfect. We will definitely be back next summer with the kids.
We loved the pool and having the beach so close to the hotel was the deal breaker! We can't pick a favorite from the two but have to say that the pool was so relaxing. Great job at covering the kiddie pool it blends so well with the pool bar. Dinner at the Italian restaurant was wonderful. The staff was incredibly welcoming and so kind. We also went to the outdoor bar on the second floor, it was nice- wish the racoons weren't as friendly- one scared the life out of me! On our way out we had a flat tire, the gentleman at the gate came right over as we were walking out of the lobby. He and three others helped us get air in the tire, that did not work so they swapped it out with the spare tire. It felt like 100 degrees out, we were all drenched in sweat, but these 4 guys kept going and reassured us that we were good to go. I wish I knew their names, I believe they were from maintenance and the gentleman at the gate. We truly enjoyed our stay. You have a wonderful team out there, really great kind people. Pura vida from Orlando, FL! Thank you, Margaritaville!

United StatesIt would be a better idea to have more channels on the TV to be English speaking instead of Spanish since most of the clientele here is English speaking American’s & Canadian’s. Especially when the original show or movie was English speaking to begin with. I also think they should have more Margaritaville souvenirs to buy in the gift shop. The store has a small corner of t-shirts & a couple of hats. I would love to have something that says Margaritaville Costa Rica. The stuff they do have was not desirable enough to buy. They should market Margaritaville more instead of Costa Rica.
Love everything Margaritaville.

United StatesHorrible food, no umbrellas for beach chairs even tho it’s advertised with umbrellas and even the map says there is umbrellas. The staff isn’t the friendliest either, which this is the only place in Costa Rica we stayed that this was the case, everywhere else was so friendly.

United StatesThe room was updated, especially the bathroom, had mold and the tub was leaking . The pillows and the towels were bad quality and smelled like bleach. They have cute balconies looking at the ocean but no chairs to sit on.

United StatesSafety. Room window lock was broken and we didn’t know. after a day of hiking I left my purse in room with wallet. Drapes were closed. purse was in suitcase. someone must have noticed me without purse when we went for dinner. someone broke into room from window went into to suitcase and stole wallet from purse. I found wallet missing when I got an alert on credit card. hotel manager was not very helpful and blamed me for not locking my purse in safe. there is no security around hotel. only guard at kiosk to entry to let cars in/out.

United Statesbeach was dirty, crowded. Not sure why they call themselves a resort, it’s very tiny and kids pool is in the corner of main pool and very small. they market themselves as having family room/theatre which is basically sitting are next to reception. loud music all day, it’s certainly not good place for kids. internet in our room didn’t work and the staff said they didn’t know what they could do. I guess you get what you pay for. we checked out early and went to W on conchal.

United StatesThe Margaritaville resort at Playa Flamingo offers superb sunsets and incredible drinks. The service was great from check-in all the way to check-out. The restaurant reviews were not great, but we were too tired to leave the property, so opted for the bar option above the pool area. Our server there was the best we had in all of Costa Rica. She was positive and knew the menu well. The drinks were exactly what you would expect from a Buffett themed restaurant. The is the only night we splurged in Costa Rica and it was worth it for the sunset view alone!

United StatesRoom was quite large & roomy; the view from the room was just of the small pool, but since we only stayed one night, it was OK. The pool was great, with swim up bar. The breakfast was plentiful; we sat outside with view of the beach. We walked to the beach afterwards, but the waves were quite big and not very inviting, so we didn't swim there. But, the view of the beach, waves was wonderful. Too bad we couldn't stay longer.

United StatesThere was a little mold on the bottom of the bathroom door jam & the garbage lid lever was broken. That’s it. -and I get the impression that had we not checked in earlier than expected that they would have remedied that before we arrived. Otherwise very well kept up!
All of the staff are so friendly and helpful, but especially those at Capriccio’s! Memorably great people & artists who clearly take pleasure in wowing people!

United Statesthe television had no english speaking channels on the tv. the breakfast buffet really needs some sprucing up..same old stuff just about everyday. they need to get rid of all of the people on the resort property trying to sell or scam people going into the beach area. Its not very relaxing to even take a walk on the beach without someone trying to sell ya something.
most of the people that worked there were very nice. The bartenders seem to overcharge or mislead on charges.

United StatesSales people swarmed at the beach a bit, but that’s not the resort’s fault. There are three restaurants to choose from which can feel a bit redundant when you stay more than a few days on all inclusive.
The room was gorgeous with an amazing view and the beach is just a short walk away. The pool was also incredibly nice with a swim up bar.
