United StatesIt felt like a hostel. We were given our towels and bars of soap at check in. There was no shampoo or conditioner, and no hand towels or washcloths. We had to ask for blankets (which to their credit smelled freshly washed). No hot water, and we had to manually stop the toilet from running each time.
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. It had a nice courtyard area. Breakfast was good. We were told it was a 20-30 minute walk to the main commercial area but there were several sodas and a bakery within a few minutes walk.

CanadaVery dirty. Stayed in the room with 4 beds for our party of 5. Smelt strongly of mildew. The beds were just unacceptable- wood and velvet headboards and long green velvet curtains. The room itself would probably be fine if those beds were replaced. They were genuinely gross.

CanadaIt would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room . The hotel is not near anything. We found a small bakery and a small corner store a few blocks away but no restaurants or other activities. It is located in a residential area that is not really great to walk around.
Our room was spacious and clean. It was on the ground floor so no stairs to haul luggage up. It is inexpensive. There was someone available all day/night to open gate as we had to leave at 5 am.

CanadaThe fact that we asked for early check in half an hour beforehand and were told that there was an extra $10 charge. We have never seen this anywhere in the world in all of our travels. The water leaked from the bottom of the shower which could be a potential tripping hazard. Finally windows in the bathroom couldn’t be closed so we could hear voices and footsteps.
It was very clean and breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe hotel is overdue for a refresh. A fresh coat of paint is badly needed on all walls and ceilings to cover up pealing and stains, as well as stain removal from the window screens. Cracked tiles are common and the stairwells could use a good scrubbing. The landscaping also needs some love. Hopefully the owners can put a bit of work into the place and make it shine again.
We stayed here for one night at the end of our trip. The front desk person was informative and kind (as was our experience in all of Costa Rica - lovely people). She recommended a few walkable locations for dinner and general directions. They have private gated parking which was nice.

CanadaThey charged an extra 13% to the price Booking said I would have to pay because I reserved with Booking the hotel staff said. No insonorisation whatsoever, and pretty old windows. Since there were many dogs barking the whole night, we haven't slept much. I found a cockroach in the bedroom and the provided bug killer was stinking and was irritating. A ceremony was necessary each time I parked the car with the very specific manner they prescribed. Only Gallo pinto was available for breakfast (You cannot even trade it for some toasts) and if you don't show off by 8h30 for the said breakfast, they knock on your bedroom door like crazy as if you were a criminal and the police wanted to get into the room. There was only a sheet on the bed, minimal amount of toilet paper, no shampoo and barely no hot water. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in within the last 40 years. They gave me back 20$ for the cockroach and bed bug inconvenient or to prevent me from writing this review.

CanadaIt was incredibly loud and could use a nightstand and hand towel. But the thing that ruined this hotel for us was the fact that the gate is locked and there's no way to get in or out unless someone buzzes you. So when we had to leave at 4:00 in the morning to catch a flight and there was no one available to buzz our car out of the complex it was incredibly frustrating. If we didn't have the ability to phone an international number and go behind their front counter to answer the phone when they called back we would have missed our flight.
The hotel was very clean and felt very safe. It's located in a family neighborhood and a short walk to very casual restaurants.

Costa RicaThe reception staff service isn't friendly, quite abrupt, and not at all welcoming. We were given a room with a malfunctioning air conditioner, and we had a terrible night due to excessive heat. The next day during checkout, I mentioned the situation, but they didn't apologize or offer anything, not even a juice or breakfast, as we couldn't sleep and woke up late. It's a shame, but it wasn't a good experience. We don't plan on returning.
The room was tidy, and the bathroom offers a lot of space.

United StatesMy room was 211 on the outside of the hotel. IT WAS NOISY 24/7. The windows don't shut all the way!!!!! You hear 20 motorcycles blasting by every hour 24 hours a day. If they know these rooms face towards the main road then why not have real windows! ? Why not have sound proof windows????? Neighbors blasted music until 2am and hotel did NOTHING. NO HOT WATER. No food or drinks sold outside of free breakfast. I did not get a wink of sleep in two days due to the extreme noise outside.
Hotel itself is ok looking. The town itself is awful with absolutely nothing to do. You have to go to the waterfalls or on a tour. There is nothing in town. Not a walkable place.
