Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The staff here are incredible - they went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience! The pool is a great place to relax after adventuring around the area. The nearby beach is GORGEOUS - great for watching the sun rise. We loved that this area kept us away from all the other tourists ;)

CanadaIt was perfect!
It was absolutely in a perfect peaceful farm-like jungle setting - away from the crowds and business. It was only a few minutes within walking distance to the beach. The property had a wonderful pool for swimming and relaxing. Also, hammocks were setup in various areas to enjoy at different times in the day. The location was very close to shopping or site-seeing by car. We had the pleasure of hearing howler monkeys - sometimes close and in the distance. One morning, we had a parade of monkeys (howlers), like 20 it seemed, passing through the tree-tops in the yard. The whole troop were quiet as mice. We also had iguanas of all sizes passing by our cabina. The hosts welcomed us with delicious homemade bread for us to enjoy in the morning.

United StatesNo complaints at all!
It was located outside of Montezuma and outside of Calala so we had our choices of places to go and visit. Our location was quiet and secluded, off the main road by enough to make it peaceful. The grounds were very well manicured and the pool was lovely. The cottage was great and having a private porch was very nice as well. Also, there was a yoga pavilion right next to our cabin and my wife is a yoga instructor and very much enjoyed using it.

PolandAll was perfect.
The owner was very kind and helpful. The location is beautiful, surrounded by greenery, away from the hustle and bustle. You can interact with the wildlife up close. The cottage is very well equipped. We felt comfortable and at ease. The pool was clean and well-maintained. It's the perfect place for nature lovers. You will need a mode of transportation to get to the store or restaurants.

United KingdomI really liked it, my husband thought it was too far out of Montezuma so it really depends on what you like.
Its a really lovely place; 4 cabins in the jungle so perfect if you like peace and quiet. It’s 3 km from Montezuma and Cabuya where all the restaurants and bars are. We didn’t meet the owners, they now have a Manager overseeing the place.

United StatesOn our first night, we did not understand how to adjust the heat on the shower water and wish they had some instructions written in english/spanish for more help. Once we figured it out, the shower was wonderful!
The grounds at this small family run property were beautiful and much care has been made by the on-site owners to build cabinas in the midsts of the jungle! The pool was cleaned daily and lovely for a quick dip while listening to howler monkeys and watching parrots fly by. We requested a blender and it was brand new. The linens were clean, new and very high quality and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some light meals during our stay, including a complimentary homemade loaf of bread and local jam. Fabio the owner was available for restaurant recommendations and also helped us when we couldn't get the hot water in our shower adjusted. This is a wonderful and quiet property half way between Cabuya and Montezuma. Perfect if you are looking for something authentic and away from the crowds in Montezuma. Minutes by car to the local beaches. We would love to visit again.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like. Everything was perfect.
This was hands down the best accommodation we stayed at in Costa Rica. It is in the middle of the forest, but there were no mosquitoes. The grounds and lodges are kept meticulously clean and the gardens around the property are stunning. The lodge was very spacious, having two bedrooms, a kitchen/living room and a bathroom. The kitchen was very well equipped and we also used the terrace outside to have our breakfasts, often watched over by the local iguanas and birds. There is no TV in the lodge, but we actually found that a plus. The lodge had everything we needed and the place has a very special feel. On arrival we were greeted with a freshly baked bread. The swimming pool was very clean and great for a refreshing splash after a day out fand about. The owner was a genuinely nice person, very friendly, professional and very helpful with any queries we had, as well as recommending things to do in the vicinity. We walked over to the island cemetery at low tide and our favourite beach was Play las Manchas (between the lodge and Montezuma). It was one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed at and we absolutely loved everything about it.

There is a nice balcony at every cabin where you can sit and watch monkeys, iguanas, birds, butterflies. The kitchen is well equipped. What an unexpected gem in the jungle this place is… the photos really don’t do it justice! Seconds walk from a deserted beach, a short drive to Montezuma and Cabuya, super peaceful with nothing but the noises of the jungle, daily monkey visitors. Super safe - our three young children went off exploring around the cabins everyday. The owners are lovely and very helpful / welcoming and advised us on and booked us loads of activities. Small kitchens in each cabin meant we could cook basic meals, and a number of delivery services meant we could have restaurant grade food whenever we wanted! Spent two heavenly weeks here and couldn’t have been happier… highly recommended!

United KingdomIt is a remote area. The pool was not really clean.
The garden was amazing, we saw lots of animals (monkeys, agouti, birds, iguanas, spiders, ...). The pool was great. The little cabin was comfortable, well equipped. We loved the free bread and jam for the breakfast. 5-minute walking distance to an empty paradisiac beach - we litterally had the beach for ourselves.

United StatesIf someone could let the Howler Monkeys know that 5:00am is just a little too early for their wake-up call, I would appreciate it. lol. Also, could the mangos please only fall during the day?
We came to Montezuma for the hiking and to Boogie Board. My travel guide said that there was surfing at a nearby beach. Well, Boogie boarding is a little different than surfing and the beach was not safe for us. We were ready to leave and go to another area all together. William, our host, was absolutely wonderful about the whole situation and really tried to help us out. We did finally find a great beach (Playa Grande) and had a wonderful 8 days watching birds, monkeys, Agoutis, and iguanas near our casita, and boogie boarding at a gorgeous beach. It was nice to be near town, but not in town (very crowded and noisy). William and his wife were a joy to be around.

United Statesthe internet is problematic and can get frustrating if you are there with work to do. The owner helped tremendously with this.
there are only 3 cabins in a quiet place between Montezuma and Cabuya. The owner is a great guy and lives there with his family. Great pool, a 2-minute walk to the beach.

CanadaI wish there was air conditioning in the living room of our cabin, but understand that this is expensive and we were after all, in the jungle so it didn't affect us too, too much. There was air conditioning in the rooms, and that was most important to us as it made for a comfortable sleep. So technically, no air conditioning in the living room wasn't a big deal, but if I have to say what I didn't like, it's a hard search and this is all I could land on.
Everything! The resort was quiet and clean with very friendly staff. Located in the jungle where we could hear howler monkeys in the distance (we loved that) and there was all kinds of wildlife around. Check-in was super easy, and the homemade bread and jam in the fridge upon arrival was such a nice (and delicious) touch. The cabin came equipped with all of the necessities, and the air conditioning in the rooms was excellent. Parking was available and near our cabin, and the internet (important to us) was decent. The owners were also friendly and always available, ready to chat and provide any information/advice needed.

MaltaWilliam was so helpful with explaining how to get to the property (since it is a bit tricky being so secluded), and was very warm and welcoming in general! The rooms are all within a massive garden, full of interesting plants and trees, and complete with a pool which is really nice to swim in at night when lit up. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with a large porch where you can chill out. Plenty of toads and insects jumping around!
