The bedroom door was difficult to open, because it' s in wood and with the humidity the system is blocking most of the time.

The staff was awesome. Very nice and friendly, always available and happy with a smile. They really made sure that everything is very clean. The pool was cleaned every morning and this was perfect for us and the kids. Breakfast was always good and enough. The room had a roof and 3 beds + bathroom with warm water. Thats it. Everything was well secured against Mosquitos which was nice. Wlan was good and stable.

You can definitely get better breakfast and coffee in the village so you might want to consider booking without breakfast as it's quite expensive for what you get. Be prepared that there is no Aircon so the room can get extremely hot.

The location is nice as it's close to the beach and national park so you can hear all the wild life. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok. The size of the room was also good and overall it was a simple but nice place.

Nice place to relax; great swimming pool, clean room, powerful fan, good location away from Tortuguero's town center. We could even spot the green macaw from the pool

Air con would be a bonus, but the fans allowed a good night's sleep. Reinstating kitchen facilities would be good (I think these were removed since we booked).

Nice peaceful guesthouse a short walk from the village. Swimming pool gave a welcome break from the heat. Breakfast was very good ($7 pp). We were met at the boat by a representative of the guesthouse. They explained about tour options (same price as elsewhere) and were very helpful with online purchase of national park tickets.

I'm not a fussy person really, so it was all good.

I did not think I would use the pool, but it was great for cooling off. The staff were all very approachable and helpful. The location was superb at the edge of the jungle. Howler monkeys put on a spectacular show. Breakfast was really good. The guides associated with the hotel were great also. (Augusto, Bernie).

Because it rains so much the pathways to the hotel gets flooded. if you have any disabilities you should contact the hotel and find out what your options are. There are no cars or busses in tortuguero. I did see a quadbike and a couple of motorcycles but favourite mode of transport is Bicycle or boat.

intimate hotel rooms close to each other shared kitchen. Staff very helpful I needed a blanket and they found me one. pool is small. They will tell you Its not safe to go in the sea .People were going in the sea. Rains a lot at night but daytime was fine. you wake up early to the sounds of the jungle and the local cockerel.

Construction was going on so there was some noise and other inconveniences, but nothing major.

Friendly staff, very accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and clean. It was nice having a swimming pool.

There was quite a lot of construction going on but we understand that they are trying to improve the site. The improvements should be nice once they are done.

It is located at the boundary of the national park so we were able to see quite a lot of wildlife, spider monkeys, macaws, toucans, etc. There have been jaguars seen as well but we weren't lucky enough to see one.

A lot of noise, very soft mattresses and not the best pillows.

The pool is nice, a bit old but kept clean. Kitchen available (but a little worn and and the fridge smells very bad) . Staff does their best to keep things tidy and make you comfortable! Super friendly! All in all, you get what you pay for.

The electricity was somewhat unstable, also the warm water in the shower was a little on/off during our stay. However the staff was busy trying to fix it and it did rain cats and dogs which didn’t make it any easier for them. Small minus is also the neighbors rooster which on our second morning very persistently tried to wake us up as of 5 in the morning.

Staff was helpful and easy going. The location is in a quiet corner of the village but still everything is reachable within 10 minutes. We spotted both monkeys and a toucan from our porch. They sell beer and offer a laundry service as an extra plus.

This place is so lovely, the staff is so friendly and it is clean. The pool is small, but nice for cooling down. There is a kitchen with a fridge, so you can make your own breakfast and other meals. They did our laundry for 5000 Colones. It’s not unsafe to walk to restaurants during the night, as is written somewhere else. It was great that in La Pavona we were already on a list and someone helped us there immediately with the boat tickets, getting on the boat and arranging our tours. In Tortuguero there was someone else who took us to the hotel. Everything very well arranged. Everyday they are folding your new towel in a different way, mostly animals. While in the pool you can see monkeys, parrots, etc.

the shower was cold and the layout of the room was a bit odd. there was a big counter with nothing on it and a table, after that the bathroom and beds.

i had a really big room all to myself with a double bed and a single. clean bathroom. the property is located a big out of the center but there was a guide to pick me up and carry my luggage (10/10)! i booked a tour with the hostel as well which was really nice!
