Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOur only criticisms really were that the rooms didn't have much storage so we were half living out of our suitcase and secondly that the construction of the villas meant that the humidity and moisture from the jungle and rain left the towels damp and as a result they never fully dried. I'm sure that towels could be replaced after each use but in the interest of being eco friendly some form of dehumidifier would be a great addition within the rooms, maybe there is an air conditioner that could provide this as well as temperature control?
Loved this villa and spa, the location was excellent with options for both sea and jungle views. The unique construction of the villas gave a real sense of living in the environment whilst being protected from the elements. The spa was also great with open views of the jungle while receiving our treatments. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and would accommodate any request. We loved it so much we extended for a further night (due to late cancellations from other guests). Our thanks to Henry and Leydy as well as the other staff for making our stay so great.

United StatesA bit of a treacherous drive up the mountain if it is raining and dark, but doable for sure.
Oh my gosh, this place is stunning! On a whim we stayed an extra day in the Uvita area and booked just for a single night. This beautiful lodge offers breathtaking views, a super friendly and attentive staff, delicious restaurant and cocktails, and awesome customer service. It has trails that lead to beautiful waterfalls and the most amazing flora. We had to leave very early in the morning and the restaurant made us deliciuos burritos-to-go so that we didn't miss breakfast!

United StatesThe first night of our stay it rained. Started as light sprinkle then got hard. The power went out during the light sprinkle and was out for about 5-6 hours. This would have been fine if it were not pitch black in the middle of the jungle. They had candles to keep the concierge area lit, but no flashlights or assistance getting back to our villas in the darkness was provided. Also I would recommend not renting a car to get to the resort, to get up this mountain you will have to have an sun with 4 wheel drive.
The food was very inexpensive and we got a LOT for the price. We couldn't finish our meals 75% of the time. There is a trail at the resort you can hike, 10min hike or 25min hike, depending on which way you take, but this hike will lead you to 2 beautiful waterfalls that you MUST experience. My husband and I are not fit people but we were able to enjoy the hike and waterfalls. The resort also offers excursions, we did the ATV tour and I can't even begin to explain how amazing it was. It was a "you only live once" experience. Seeing the views from the top of the mountains was breathtaking. We hiked (10-15mins) to the tallest waterfall and the tour guides took pictures of us in the waterfall. Drove to the next waterfall location where the guides convinced us to jump off a cliff into the waterfall and it was AWESOME! Everything about our visit to Oxygen Jungle Villas turned out trip that started off horrible when we landed in San Jose, into an amazing experience that changed our minds from "we will NEVER come back to Costa Rica" to "we will DEFINITELY be back to Uvita, Costa Rica!"

SwitzerlandCheck-in was terrible and so did it continue Pool is just infringing of the restaurant and bar. Everything is like 5 cm apart. So very packed and loud. You listen to staff talking, cooking, cleaning and so own the whole time and than they put up loud music, which helps against the talking of the staff but there is little enjoyment of the nature and quite there… I book the last room, so it was up the pull. At 6 the staff woke me up because they very talking so loudly at the bar you couldn’t sleep anymore and the kitchen was also not quite. Which makes sense. But it does not help with sleep The food for sinners was barely okay. I would not recommend it to stay in. They are way better places around for the same price

SpainThe road up to the hotel is an adventure in itself, a 4x4 is highly recommended. Our suite (just above reception) has two rooms but they are not connected from within, ie you have to go via the balcony or out of one room and into the other which is not ideal. the room is nice but not the most modern except for the bathroom which is more modern.
Staff was super helpful. Trail down to a waterfall which was very nice. Views from the hotel are amazing.

Costa RicaI didnt like this place at all.. The room is filthy , so much dirt, nobody cleans the windows, and even cockroaches in the room ! The bathroom is made of glass walls, that they dont clean so you can see all the drips , very disgusting. Also the toilette enclosure is so small, you cannot sit at the toilette and close the door. The bed has a fabric above, and you can tell nobody cleans it because its full of dust. The other room is nearby, since the rooms are made of glass walls, you can actually see your neighbors in their room, so no privacy unless you close the curtains. The location is far from town, the road is in very bad shape (need 4x4), and there is nothing nearby. The restaurant and room service closes at 8pm so you are forced to take an early dinner (or go to town which im not going to discuss again) The breakfast (included in our rate) was flavorless.
The view from the pool and bar is very nice. Very quiet rooms.

United Kingdomyou really do need a 4x4 to get here. annoyed that it’s not more prominent on their website or on booking.com nor do they message you to advise like every other place we stayed. if you don’t have one, you’re looking at 15 USD each way just to their sister hotel 10 mins drive away. also the electricity went out a number of times while we were there. no big deal and these things happen but think they could have put lamps and fans in room etc to help.
great rooms and views
