Dead Ants in the bed and the pillows when we arrived. The bed lays directly on a cement bottom. The surrounding area is noisy.

Perfect place to sleep directly on the river side. The boat and the Kayak Tours starts directly on your terrace. Wonderful and exciting arrivel boat trip from the harbor to Tortuguero.

Cockroaches. Inadequate supply of hooks and outlets. It was very confusing when we got to the original room in the main part of town. It was a nice clean room with a good view of the river, but due to construction they suggest we move to a less nice room further away for the same money. We took it and were glad we did, despite the cockroaches.

Nice clean room 3 blocks from the center of town. It was in a quiet neighborhood overlooking the Caribbean.

It was pretty loud and our room was located next to the lobby area and we could hear everything clearly. It is also important to mention that due to heavy rainfalls the area was completely flooded, as well as the streets. This meant that it was impossible to access the rooms without standing almost knee high in the water. Maybe a small pump would be helpful to keep it dry at least in the hotel area. The biggest issue was then (irrelevant of the flooding) that the rooms were accessible only by passing by the very left rooms, so ours, and we could hear everyone and you needed to almost balance yourself to get to the rooms. We did not appreciate at all that there is a system of sharing the hotel guest names to the parking at La Pavona harbor, which all in all felt a big scam. Also once we arrived, the (very kind) stuff started to offer us tours from them at three different prices that changed throughout our conversation and timeline.

The view was stunning, just at the river, next to the harbor (not even 200m) and in the very « city center ». The second bed located at the window is definitely a big bonus of this location and the AC was enough to cool down all the areas. We spent a lot of time in the room due to the weather and we enjoyed it. It was clean but it could be for sure improved (AC remote control, windows)

6:00 am very noisy because tours are leaving so you can’t sleep anymore. Also terrible breakfast, bad coffee and eggs without salt. Just the pinto was good

Wi-fi connection is a bit unstable, but this didn't make much difference for me.

Room had a spectacular view, right in front of the river. At the hotel they offer tours, such as day/night walks, kayaking/canoeing and the opportunity to see the turtles (depending on the season). Guiders are very knowledgeable and nice to talk to. The place is located at the main village in Tortuguero, so it is at easy access to restaurants and the boat transportation.

The location was superb situated in the centre of Tortuguero. The appartement was tidy and contained all the necessities. Employees were very friendly and service oriented, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Pura Natura. The tour operator next to the hotel has great tours which we enjoyed like the turtle tour, kano and nightwalk. The tour guide Jairo was a great guide and very knowledgeable. He made sure we had a good time exploring Tortuguero. Pura vida!

Unfortunately (not the hotel's fault), there is a nearby party location with LOUD music, supposedly every night between Thursdays to Sundays. Also, kayak and canoe tours start in front of the door as early as 6 a.m., causing some noise. The mini kitchenette could have been a bit cleaner, but it wasn’t a biggie.

We LOVED being directly by the river, the view from the "loft" bed and from the terrace was priceless. We sat there for hours looking at the boats and birds and fish. Especially in the early morning hours, it's idyllic. The boat from La Pavona dropped us off directly at the hotel, though the main "harbour" is only a 1 min walk away anyhow. We also booked (with the hotel) an early-morning kayak tour to the canals (note: a ticket to the national park is required for that)... it was likely the best thing we did in Costa Rica. Kayaking the mangroves during a tropical thunderstorm, spotting many animals... awesome! The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and quite nice. The room itself is small but cozy.

The location on booking.com was inaccurate and there was no signage or advertising on Google maps therefore we walked to the wrong ‘hotel pura natura’ at the beachfront. The third person we asked knew where to take us. There are still a few problems left to iron out whilst the hotel conversion is finished off. Hopefully these will happen quickly because it’s in a wonderful location and is very convenient for a few days in a beautiful place.

When it’s fully finished, the room will be to a high specification. The bathroom and balcony in particular were very pleasant. We had comfortable sleeps on the beds and there is a good attempt to create storage space inside what is a fairly tight squeeze for 3 or 4 travellers with luggage. The staff were very friendly and very keen to help. At present the property doesn’t appear to be fully finished.

Small room, with two beds. The bathroom was big but the part of the sink was very small, making it hard to get to the sink if you have large shoulders. It didnt bother us that much though, could survive. No breakfast but some crackers and coffee available. The entrance to the place does not look so great, have to go thorough a gate and upstairs passing through some kind of renovation. I guess it is only temporary, but it definitely dindt look clean and tidy like the pictures. What is good is also bad in the sense that location is very central so we stayed from saturday to sunday and there was partying going on up until 2am that was very loud. But village is very small I doubt there was a place that didnt hear the party... maybe not as loud as we did.

Location was very close to the place where the boats arrive, very easy to find. It also has a view of the water, it was super beautiful. We liked that it was clean, had everything we needed for the stay.

Tends to be noisy at night! Lots of tourists and nightlife which is, in a way, understandable. Earplugs might be a good idea at bedtime!

1st of all the name and location on Booking .com map is wrong. When you get off boat turn right walk 100 meters and look for sign Tuanis Guest House on your right. If you see Roots tour office you have just passsed it. The accomodation is on the bank of the canal so a perfect view. Room is a good size, hot water and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpfull Purda Vida

I stayed in unit 1. My friend came to knock on the door and discovered that the crack was so wide that she could see me naked through the gap even when the door was shut and locked. It was also uncomfortable that there was a window on the stairs that gave people from the bar a direct view of us. My friend also noticed her window shades were see through when her light was on. The location was a bit noisy but not too bad. The windows definitely need shades. We took a nap upstairs and woke up to a sunburn from the window with no blinds. Please fix the door and add shades on the windows for security. We also could not find the place because there was no sign and it was not on the map.

It was very clean and secure. It was right by the river so the view was immaculate. The staff were friendly. We would stay there again if the small changes were made.

The hotel staff was amazing! They were very welcoming and accommodating. Marjorie is a great hotel manager and ensures you are well taken care of. The hotel is small and quaint, so not many other guests to worry about. The hotel is right on the river, so you can relax outside and watch all the ferries, boats, canoes and kayaks coming and going. They have a coffee and beverage bar and have recently started breakfast service. Definitely schedule a tour with the hotel staff, their tour guides are great, they will take good care of you and make sure you enjoy your tour. Jairo was my canoe tour guide, he is very knowledgeable and great to talk to. Next door there is a partner tour group that does the night turtle egg laying tour, and the hotel staff took care of making the accommodations for me. The night tour was a phenomenal experience and a must do if you're here during July - October. George Luis was our tour guide and provided us with so much information on the green sea turtles and the whole conservation program. This hotel is a great option if you're looking to get a feel for the Tortuguero river life. I loved the whole experience, I will absolutely be coming back and staying here when I do!

Friendly staff, rooms are nice and the view is amazing. We did turtle ans canoë tour with them and both tours were good.
