Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThis was the closest I’ve ever been staying in a crack house. By far the dirtiest hostel I’ve stayed in and the staff were very rude.
The price is the cheapest in town. Bed in the tent was comfortable.

GermanyThe kitchen was very small for the amount of people and the there was kind of no cooking equipment
I sleeped in the dorm with the Hammocks. It's possible to hang up your own or the one from the hostel. 1 night in a Hammock from the hostel is 6$ and the price is super fair.

Costa RicaThis place is like a prison. There are locks on the inside of doors so you can’t leave the property without a key. The staff watches cameras and stares at you like they are prison wardens. Don’t think you can bring someone on property to your room, staff will charge them for a full night. They are very strict. There’s a fire and problem so prepare to be itchy. Staff wasn’t respectful initially but I stayed a while and they became kinder over the duration of my stay
Location is good

MexicoThe worst hotel I have been in in my 5 years full time traveling. How somebody could give it a good review is beyond the realms of comprehension? With a zillion tents around, I had to make my way to my dorm room on a floor of beer crates upside down. Looks and feels like a refugee camp. No hot water. 1 toilet per thousand guests, it seems. Simply awful. $22 for a bed? No 💩💩💩 Run while you can..
Absolutely nothing. The reception guy was friendly, that's about it.

United StatesThe girls had zero complaints!
The 2 bedroom house you have set is was perfect for my daughter and her friends to stay! It was their last weekend in Costa Rica. They have been in college studying abroad and have fallen in love with your county! They loved staying there and it was great to have them call me and see all the smile and laugh that were taken place at your property! Thank you for making it a memorable stay for them!!!

ItalyThe bathrooms are dirty, there is not enough showers for everyone and in the morning there was no water so I leave to your imagination the condition of the toilets.
The concept, the vibe and the staff was good. It's close to the beach and they do offer activities like bonfires.

NorwayI will miss this place. It feels like being part of a family. I slept in a Hammock for weeks and loved every minute of it. I woke up to the sound of the ocean in the morning and could go for a swim before breakfast.

United KingdomWe booked a dorm room and we arrived at 5pm we were told there was no dorm room available as it was a mistake by booking.com and it shouldn't have been on the website. We were offered a tent to stay. Although I don't understand why we could not have been told earlier, so that we could make different arrangements.
Didn't stay here.

PeruI stayed in a hammock and it was the worst experience ever. Not because of the hammock but because there is no mosquito net, so I couldn't sleep at all! I was bitten by mosquitoes all night. There are no plugs next to any hammock or nearby. I just found one at the bar. Kitchen too small and very basic, not enough cutlery or utensils. The design of the whole place is just weird.
Free shot when you check in. Next to the beach. Just stayed there because I arrived late at night and just wanted a cheap place to sleep.

Great value for money. A sure choice when stopping off in Puerto Viejo. There are always fun guests that you meet and the bar plays good music. Well equipped communal kitchen. Very artistic and extravagant deco.

United StatesThe property was very dirty, especially the community kitchen. The kitchen was not well stocked. The rooms were incredibly hot, no airflow, and very difficult to navigate. The bathrooms and showers were dirty and not kept fully functional.

United KingdomOne staff member misplaced my passport and another staff member was extremely unfriendly, and tried to over charge me because she wasn't wanting to listen to the fact that I had overpaid the day before. She seemed to be annoyed and inconvenienced by everything, not so great when you wanting to get matters solved. Another staff member was there though and was super helpful in payment matters. Cameras would be a good thing too as I had one of my belongings go missing.
I liked that they have their own beach, great showers and a the tent set up was clean and comfortable. Some of their staff members were really nice and helpful.

Netherlandsthe kitchen was very crowded, very dirty in my opinion and also SO hard to find some utensils! I feel like there were maybe 5 knives and forks for a hostel with over a 100 people. Also no gloves or anything to pick up a hot pan, almost no knives to cut with. If you plan on eating out every night this hostel is very nice, but I hated having to go into the kitchen…
room with good working airconditioning for a low price. the bed was pretty comfortable as well, and the location is also very nice
