My wife and I stayed at Villa Nautilus during our visit to Tamarindo over New Years last year. Having not been to Tamarindo before this place was PERFECT for location as it's literally down the road from the beach. Upon arrival, Agelie greeted us and was super helpful with providing information about Tamarindo and everything that this amazing part of Costa Rica has to offer! Having lived there for a number of years, Agelie had so much useful information about the tours, restaurants, surroundings etc.. You name it, she could help you with it! The room was perfect for what we needed. Good size, clean, and had a pool right outside in the shared area, which us and the other guests could use. Would 100% recommend staying here if you want somewhere close to the beach and bars/restaurants and value your privacy. **Special shout out to her little son for providing us with his homemade lemonade every day - super refreshing in the dry season heat! The power sockets could be better placed, as sometimes we had to use a portable socket hanging from the kitchen top. The accomodation is not the closest to the center but still just a 5-10min away on foot. Sometimes the pool could be cleaned a bit better, but it was still enjoyable. For the price maybe we would expect just a little more, but overall it was a very good stay.

We were in the ground floor room with pool view, family of 3. The room was spacious. Although it seemed a bit dated, the room was clean and kept in perfect condition by the staff on daily basis. We had a fridge and kitchen appliances to prepare our breakfast. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The pool area felt like an oasis, but beware of mosquitos. The owner Agelie did a great job to make us feel at home and was always ready to help by offering advice on tours and restaurants.

Everything was so wonderful! My friend and I had such a fun time at Villa Nautilus and wandering around Tamarindo. Angelie gave amazing recommendations for food and local things to do. She is very knowledgable. The location fabulous and so close to the beach!

I have no complaints!

The couple that own this property are incredibly inviting, friendly, and helpful. We arrived in Tamarindo with loose ideas of what we wanted to do, but didn't have anything booked. They recommended so many great activities, like a private surf lesson and a catamaran trip and took a lot of the effort of research off of our hands. The property itself is relaxing, secluded, and safe. Still centrally located and easy to walk everywhere in town.

Everything was wonderful! Agelie and Laurent were lovely hosts- so kind and helpful and communicative. We loved our breakfasts on the terrace- fresh and delicious! The location was great- close enough to the beach and restaurants and shops, but far enough to not hear the noise of the town. The bed was comfy, the room was clean, the property was lovely!

Wish we could have a light outside on after 8pm so we can play cards. If you wanted to stay up you'd need to be in your room or out of the Villa at night. It's kinda hard though because the hosts don't want to deal with people being loud and staying up forever.

Friendly and very helpful hosts! They are there for anything you need. Beds are comfortable. Had cleaning staff everyday. Pool was nice.

Wish there was a full size mirror in the room and more shelving in the bathroom. Also wish there were complimentary coffee and fruit, throughout the day in the restaurant area near the pool.

I loved the guest house and our accommodation! Our studio apartment had everything we needed, a small kitchenette where we prepared food, a comfy couch and coffee table area to relax with a book, and even a small private outdoor area, where I enjoyed hearing the sounds of the birds. The property is quiet and beautiful, while still in a central location in the town of Tamarindo. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We received warm service from the owners and staff and a ton of recommendations on where to go to make the best of our stay. We enjoyed having coffee and breakfast at the property too, it was delicious! The pool area is wonderful too, a great place to relax. I can not wait to go again!

We loved our stay at Villa Nautilus. The owners were very accommodating to us traveling with small children. We enjoyed our stay and our son had a lot of fun playing with Lenzo. The location couldn’t have been more perfect and even though it was so close to the main strip it was very quiet. The breakfast was very good-the staff were lovely.

I really appreciate the attention provided. Took the time to explain the amenities around. The place is really near from restaurants, food markets and more. Beautiful pool and rooms. Located in a peaceful downtown. Agelie, her husband & the personal working there, you rock!

We had a nice big room with beautiful interior design. The host told us many nice spots for food and activities in the area when we arrived. When I forgot my Kimono in the room after leaving, she even sent it to San Jose for me. Definitely a recommendation!

More lighting in the room and bathroom and in shower shelving in bathroom to get ready would be helpful. Some type of storage for clothing you need to hang is ideal as well.

Agélie the owner was the absolute best tour guide of Tamarindo. Great guidance for restaurants and activities. She set up amazing surf lessons for us. Was always very attentive to our needs and also friendly throughout our stay. She does an excellent job keeping things running smoothly for her guest.

Room is kind of dark - not a deal breaker but it can be improved. Had to go inside the house to access the room (I expected a private balcony, which is the case for the other room on the same floor)

Everything is super clean, the staff and the owners are very friendly, the breakfast is good and the pool area is lovely. The owner gave us great tips on where to eat and go which helped us a lot.
