“The Person who let us into the house did not welcome us and did not introduce himself. He showed us the room which was many stairs up. He collected the amount we owed in cash. The restaurant he recommended was a touristy place, actually the closest one to the guesthouse. The house is in process of a conversion from a family home to a guest house. In the surroundings are several unfinished new building constructions. We had the impression we were the only guests and there was no care taker on premise. We did not feel safe there and decided to rent another room ( for the same night) in a hotel, not too far away which we knew from a previous stay in Mindelo. So we paid an extra room not to stay in this place for one night even.”
