The host Candaida, was amazing, she made us feel so welcome and at home! The property was lovely, really nice inside and designed herself. The property was very clean and comfy with everything we needed for our stay. Candaida’s food was fantastic, with a wonderful home cooked spread for breakfast including a freshly baked orange cake! The property is a little remote, but easy to get transport to sights, towns and beaches. Will definitely stay again, thank you Candaida

Before the stay we were a little bit worried about the location outside Espargos. Our concerns turned out to be irrelevant, because Candida drove us/helped us to arrenge a ride wherever we wanted to visit in the island of Sal. It was really easy&cheap to have a bus ride between Espargos- Santa Maria (1,20€ per person).

We were staying at Lafayette Alojamentos for a few days, and really enjoyed our stay there! The place really felt like a home for us: there was really clean, breakfasts were amazing, and the staff was really warm and kind. Special thanks to Candida (the hostess), who helped us to plan our holiday to be one of a kind!

We had the best stay at Sal Lafayette! From the moment we arrived, our host welcomed us with such kindness and care.  Even though we arrived at night, she had a meal ready for us, which made us feel instantly at home. The rooms were absolutely beautiful well decorated, cozy, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. She went above and beyond, giving us all the best recommendations about Sal, including great places to eat. She even helped us arrange transportation, making our trip so much easier. The cleanliness of the entire house was impeccable 5 stars all the way!  An exceptional host who truly cares about her guests. Without a doubt, we will be coming back!

It was not very easy to reach the near town of Espargos, especially in the night, without a car/taxi.

Candida has been a very good host, always welcoming and helpful. The breakfast provided every morning was delicious! The b&b is really recommended for everyone that wants to travel around the Sal island for its location and meet people from all around the world.

A bit of a walk into town for food/drinks, but options around that (ride to dinner, bike).

The most helpful, kind people ever! Took care of me after my flight was delayed 14+ hours, including letting me leave luggage and use the facilities all day. Super comfortable, very modern. Great location if you have a car and want to explore the island, but also helpful with public transport options/taxi booking.

NOTHING at all....

VERY friendly and helpful hosts. I got a wonderful assistance when booking ferry tickets from the cumbersome unlogical website of the connection to the amazing island St. Antao. And the hosts participated in well-prepared dinners at a Mexican restaurant nearby - and a fish restaurant where the concept FRESH fish get a new meaning for me. I can only say : STAY THERE !!!

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz! Até a próxima vez.

In fact I cannot find any fault about the place. Maybe it is somewhat away from anything and one needs a car or taxi toreach things and places.

It was more like a stay with friends. Though I stayed for only one night, there was still enough time to feel charm of the place and warmth and friendliness of the hosts. Room and bathroom were comfortable, everything was very new and clean, the place is very quiet and felt very safe. Sleeping was of the best quality. Breakfast was excellent, too.

The only drawback is that the location is a bit outside of town and you need a taxi to get anywhere.

Would highly recommend this guest house. Candida, Martin and their staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are large, modern and comfortable at a very affordable price. Homecooked and tasteful meals are provided.
