Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWe would have preferred more ceramic or porcelain plates, cups, and bowls in our apartment, as the plastic ones there were not suitable for use in the microwave.
We loved the warm welcome by Ilona, and our apartment was very comfortable. The whole complex was much to our liking, with lovely outdoor spaces, two nice little pools, and a great room with a palm thatched roof with lots of space. It was close to super lovely Mambo Beach and everything else we wanted to see was easy to get to.

CanadaThe young black woman who I first met did not conduct herself in a professional manner. She gave me the wrong amount owed to the hotel but later changed her mind as to the amount left on the invoice. I was promised a security box to place my documents in but never received one. The promise was made by Maddy.
I liked the pool, the kitchenette, the helpfulness of most of the staff.

United StatesThe shared kitchen, and no coffee maker upstairs. There was one but it was broken, so I had to run down to the kitchen and brew a pot each morning.
Great location and price. The owner did upgrade the room, which made a huge difference. Refrigerator in the room. Good a/c

I love to come to this place because of its relaxed atmosphere and the access to its kitchen. Staying in hotels for business frequently I am delighted if I can prepare my own breakfast, simple meal or just have a glass of wine and some picadillos. There is always a nice social interaction with other guests.

United StatesIt doesn't have a restaurant or any type of cooked meals. There is a shared kitchen with plates, cups, utensils, pots/pans, stove/microwave, the guests are expected to buy their own food and drinks and prepare their own meals or go out of the facilities to local restaurants. They do have a coffee maker and a hot water pot in the kitchen but not in the rooms separately. There is a grocery store nearby (about 2 - 3 minutes walking).
The room had a good air-conditioning unit. (It's a mini split AC unit and it was able to go under 65 fahrenheit/18 celsius.) This was a big plus since we came at the end of October and the daily temperatures were around 88 - 93 degrees fahrenheit. The room had a nice queen size bed with a small private bathroom. (The bathroom has a shower, sit down toilet, and a sink.) The room also came with a mini fridge and a small desk with a mounted flat screen TV. I also liked how the place had a several roof tops where multiple people could hang out after a day of traveling. The rooftops had ample tables, chairs, and couches. There are 2 swimming pools onsite. We are cat lovers and at night, cats will come out and you can feed them. The people we encountered were a mix bunch. Some of the guests were just workers who were in the area for 2-3 weeks, whereas some were larger families vacationing. Everyone kind of blends together. The cleaning ladies were great as they made sure we got fresh towels daily and they made sure our rooms were clean everyday. Tipping is not expected, but much appreciated (most of Curacao follows a European type of style of gratuity/tipping) but we tipped anyway (about a few bucks a day). In terms of location, Boca Simon is an in between, it's not really close to downtown Willemstad and you will have to walk to go to all the restaurants. It's situated between Avila Hotel (15 minutes walk) and Sunscape Hotel (20 minutes walk). There are some nice restaurants nearby such as Saint Tropez, Pato, SOI 95, Penn, SAL, etc. but you will have to walk about 5-15 minutes. This was fine as my GF and I like exploring outside of our normal comfort zones but I get it, if walking is not ideal. I'd recommend this place if you have a large family, staying for an extended period time, and/or budget conscious. This place is a no frills place for sleeping and possibly making your own meals/drinks.

CanadaSome of the bed linens were quite worn and had holes in them.
The owner, Magdy, treated us like family. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave us lots of tips about Curacao, and even drove us to the airport.

United StatesNothing we didn’t “like”, but two notes: I like to sleep with two pillows and we each only had one, not a big deal. There is also a church and school right next door. The school bell goes off at 7:20 am during the week and the church bells ring on Sunday morning, so if you like to sleep in, you may want earplugs!
This was a great little boutique type hotel centrally located to beaches and downtown areas, at a very affordable price. We rented a car and parking was available inside the gate which was very convenient. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the pool area and the shared kitchen worked well for cooking breakfasts and dinner. The room was small but clean and very comfortable. We didn’t walk anywhere but the neighborhood seemed to be pretty quiet and safe, although not a real “touristy” area which was fine by us. We would definitely stay here again.

GermanyAs there are no nice beaches nor restaurants or bars in the vicinity, it is advisable to rent a car when on Curaçao, there are minibuses and also a big bus to Punda, the old town of Willemstad. It's about 2½km, same distance to nice Mambo Beach (but south)
Very friendly place, good atmosphere and friendly staff. The room was nice, it has a refrigerator too. Boca Simon has a nice pool. You can use the kitchen and make your own breakfast and other meals. A supermarket is about 100m down the road.

The atmosphere is the hotel is great. Nice to meet people there and spend the evening together. The staff is very nice as well. You can walk to Mambo beach, Avila and Willemstad centre or take us the minivans or busses, so you don’t necessarily need a car.

Trinidad and TobagoThere was an additional 5% fee for paying with credit card which we didn't know about before. Not the fault of the hotel, but a culture shock for us was that they only flush human waste down the toilet, nothing, not even toilet paper is flushed, which is not something we are used to. But we also encountered that in other areas of Curaçao as well.
Great location, especially if you want to hang out at Mambo beach a lot. It's just a few minutes drive from the hotel. Cold AC, warm shower, comfortable beds, and nice papalapa for hanging out. They also have a pool, but unfortunately, we didn't get time to use it. There is limited parking available, but there is a parking lot right outside which we used when the lot was full. Note that you will need to walk with your own toiletries, but there are shops nearby where you can buy things. There is also a mini fridge, microwave, stove top, pots, utensils etc. if you wanted to make your own meals.
