Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsFound this hidden treasure in the heart of Punda. It's beautiful and has its own charm and iconic places to take pictures. The staff is very sweet. You get free delicious coffee on arrival. You can check in earlier but wait for your room. Everything is close by and within walking distance. I'll definitely book this boutique hotel again. Especially for the cute little garden in the back and the rituals products in the room!

Bonaire St. Eustatius and SabaNothing.
The charm of the authentic building is unique. It’s a quiet oasis right in the middle of Willemstad. It is safe and via a small bridge you are a couple of minutes walking from Punda and Otrobanda. Ignore the silly comments that is situated in a bad area. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. A little cozy gem on Curacao. My new place to stay when on Curacao.

NetherlandsMy stay at Atelier Skalo has exceeded all of my expectations! I loved the property, which has a beautiful garden in the back where I can also read, but also the front with a pool. The staff has been incredible, positive, quick and always super helpful. From going beyond any expectations to help me, from moving rooms to helping me find a nail tech specialist on the island. This applies to any of the staff: the hotel manager, the security guard, the receptionists and the cleaning team. I would recommend this place to anyone and hope to come again in the future!

United StatesHonestly, nothing at all! There was not a single moment during our stay when we felt uncomfortable, unheard, or unsupported. The hotel and its staff truly set a new benchmark for hospitality.
Atelier Skalo Boutique Hotel – The Most Affirming and Accommodating Stay We've Ever Had Our recent trip to Curaçao was unforgettable, and one of the biggest reasons was our stay at Atelier Skalo Boutique Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not just as guests, but as family. The warmth and kindness we experienced here were beyond anything we’ve encountered at any other hotel. This is not just a beautiful place to stay—it is a thoughtfully designed, inclusive, and truly affirming space where every guest, regardless of their unique needs, is treated with the highest level of care and respect. What did we like? Everything is amazing! From the stunning aesthetics to the unparalleled hospitality, Atelier Skalo exceeded all expectations. The architecture and design blend Curaçao’s vibrant culture with modern, boutique-style elegance. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean, making it feel like a luxurious yet comfortable home away from home. However, what truly made this stay special was the people. The staff, especially Deana and Carissa, were absolute gems. They were attentive, compassionate, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best experience possible. One of the most remarkable aspects of our stay was the level of accessibility and inclusivity. My partner is blind, and traveling can often present challenges when it comes to accommodations and assistance. However, Atelier Skalo set a new standard for what it means to be welcoming and inclusive. The staff anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, offering assistance in ways that felt respectful, natural, and never intrusive. At no point did we feel like we were an inconvenience or that our needs were anything out of the ordinary. Instead, we felt valued, seen, and deeply cared for.

CanadaWe loved the location, easy to get to, great view of Punda, close to restaurants, shopping and sites. We thoroughly enjoyed the patio/lounge area over looking Punda and the pool. A great meeting spot with the other couple we travelled with. Staff was amazing and so helpful… we just loved Corisa!! The pool was pristine and refreshing as well. Free parking worked out well as well.

GrenadaI didn't like that there wasn't a security camera in the lobby for 24-hour monitoring , which would enhance a wonderful sense of security and leave no room for ambiguity.
Management and staff were very accommodating, and the service was genuinely friendly. I really felt at home here. Would definitely book again.

United StatesI tried to be equitable in my review and think of a complaint but I honestly do not have any!!
Atelier is literally a hidden gem!!!!! It is far away enough from the “action” (a 5 minute walk across the bridge) while still being close enough to experience all of Curaçao’s best features. I rented a car so that I could reach a lot of places in a short amount of time but if you are just looking to relax while still hitting many of the common attractions (Queen Emma bridge, Dushi and Curaçao signs etc.) then this is your spot. The staff from reception, to housekeeping, breakfast staff, security were all so welcoming, helpful and kind. If you choose to rent a car, parking is super accessible. It is street parking but in my 6 days there (whether I arrived at 6 am, 2pm or 9pm) I never struggled to find a spot for my vehicle. The hotel’s surrounding are super safe, as a solo female traveler who often times returned at “unsafe” hours of the night, I never ever felt unsafe. I chose this place to spend my birthday and I would do it again and again and again; they decorated my room for my birthday! The attention to detail for my entire stay was obvious. This hotel cares about their patrons, thank you Atelier for such a memorable experience!!

We enjoyed our seven-night stay. Our room was well-appointed and spacious with beautiful wooden floors. The hotel is airy, immaculate, has a really lovely vibe, and is conveniently located. The best part was really the staff - they were genuinely nice, cheerful, accommodating, and all-around wonderful. Breakfast in the courtyard was nice, and we were so lucky to taste a traditional holiday delicacy for Christmas breakfast. If you book at Atalier Skalo Boutique Hotel, you will be guaranteed personalized service and a warm experience. We hope to return to Curaçao and this gem of a hotel.

Costa RicaLack of availability of safe parking spaces. The shower, while confortable and spacious, took too long to warm water, which led to water wastage.
Staff was very kind and attentive. The hotel’s centric location (within walking distance of main Willemstad attractions) is one of its biggest pros.

United StatesMy stay was amazing!!!! If I had to give criticism it would be the renovations taking place. My suggestion is to have the contractors on site after 12noon for those that like to sleep in
I loved the location!!! Being new to the island, to be walking distance from the heart of the city, was a major plus!!! Dina, our host was super!!! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She even decorated the room for my friends birthday!!!!! I plan to stay here every time I visit Curacao

SwitzerlandThe Atelier Skala Boutique Hotel is ideally located, only a few minutes walk away over the pedestrian bridge and along the Floating Market to the center of Punda and Pietermaii , a few minutes more to Otrobanda. Traveling by car, there is easy and fast access to the Koningin Julianabrug connecting Punda and Otrobanda as well as comfortably bringing you to Piscadera and all the fine beaches with the incomparable turquoise, crystal clear ocean along the west coast as far as Westpunt. For parking, there was always enough space around the hotel. The hotel has a very nice patio with a big tree providing shadow, where a healthy breakfast is being served in the morning and where one can also find comfortable seatings to relax. For cooling down, there is a nice pool with a view to the Floating Market, also providing sunbeds. The room I was staying in was very spacious, always sparkling clean and provided a very comfortable bed, a balcony, a large refrigerator, a safe, iron equipment as well as an efficient AC. Check-in and check-out was fast and professional. All the team members had always been extraordinarily friendly, helpful and warmhearted. Whenever an issue showed up, they were immediately giving the needed assistance; I was given support e.g. for the car rental, regarding points of interest, received a free beach towel and was always encountering a very friendly appearance. Tu sum up, I spent a wonderfully relaxing and satisfying time in the Atelier Skala Boutique Hotel, in Willemstad and Kòrsou. I can highly recommend the hotel for any guests appreciating a quiet location, very professionally managed, with a warm, personal atmosphere. Now all that’s left for me is to wish to all the team a continued prosperous time and lots of enthusiasm for the future. Masha danki un biaha mas pa tur kos. I hope to be back again soon. Warm regards. Flavio

ColombiaThe hotel was perfect, exactly what we were told on the description. The room was very comfortable with a lot of space. The staff was very kind, always willing to help if you needed anything. If you need a tip where to eat or what to do for the day, don’t hesitate to ask them. The location was very good, only five minutes walking distance from Queen Emma’s Bridge. Definitely we will comeback next time.
