United Arab EmiratesI read in the reviews that there were renovations and was concerned so i called the hotel and assured that the noise would not affect our stay. One could hear the noise BUT, was only when the patio doors were open.The pool was in the process of being reopened but at 15C id rather swim in the sea at 18C. However the sea was also closed with a red flag due to high winds. Even if open it’s not a beach. It’s rocky and not so accessible. Part of it on the left has bulldozed earth (with rubbish), so not sure if this is also being renovated ??!! There is also an indoor heated pool, but we did not use it as is very chlorinated and the smell was overwhelming. A fridge that you can’t put anything in as there is a notice that its only for hotel provided drinks. I could understand if it limits you to put in food. The nearest ironing room was a floor above :-( but the hotel made an effort to bring an ironing board to the room. The iron worked fine but the board collapsed a few times. In short this hotel can make so many small improvements that can elevate the services, which is an expectation from a 5* property. A call from guest services, or a note in the room to ask how is our stay, and if we need anything or make suggestions. Writing this review is a bit late for service recovery.
Our room was considered one of the best in the hotel and id probably stay in the same room again, on the third floor 3230 facing the sea and partial pool. The facilities are good and the room very clean, although id say quite dated, the bathroom has old style shower and probably could use a facelift. The mattress was ok, but started to cave on the side closest to the balcony doors. There is a Nesspresso machine and capsules are provided. The AC worked well to cool the room. There is private free parking at lobby level and also under ground near security. I suggest to clean out the underground parking, a bit of paint and a couple of plants would go a long way as is not reflective of the property and more like 2*. Breakfast was standard. There is a footpath right in front of the hotel that leads to the lighthouse, castle and fort. Many people use it to exercise. Thanks to Thanasis from concierge who spent lots of time to guide us with all the facilities.

CyprusWe had 2 rooms and one of them has issues with drainage. Water was standing in the sink for 10 minutes at a time. The smell of sewage in the corridor on the ground floor also slightly affected the impression of the hotel.
Comfy beds, spacious room with extra furniture. Great view from the balcony. Very convenient location - walking distance to the most interesting sights (kings tombs f.e.)

This was a hotel full of old world charm and hospitality and yet had all the modern comforts. The indoor heated pool was a wonderful way to end a day of sightseeing. The food was incredible…we had breakfast and dinner and the staff would always offer to make us something new. The staff were just incredible in their hospitality. We could walk to the harbour from the back of the hotel. The outside pool of many levels looked amazing though we used the indoor heated pool as it was winter. We had a great stay!
