We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Malaysia- The pictures shown on here are somewhat misleading and confusing. I was expecting it’s a large hostel from the ground floor but apparently, it’s just a small room apartment on the first floor. The gate doesn’t show where the entrance is. - The bed for some reason didn’t include a thicker blanket. It was around 9 Celcius at night and I was shivering throughout the whole night. Thankfully it is only just one time.
It looks new, squeaky clean and above all, no shoes inside policy!

PortugalThe reception does not work 24/24 which may complicate a bit the communication and entry times (even though it was possible to communicate through the booking app with the owner, which gave flexibility). At the moment, the AC is not working in the room. There are lockers but they are unusable at the moment (easy thing to solve that would increase the feeling of safety a lot). The street around has lots of traffic with some noise.
Location is very good, near the intercitybus stops and a few minutes away from the cool city center. The capsule structure is as depicted in the pictures, which conferes a lot of privacy, with individual light and outlet and a curtain, and a comfortable matress. The common area is spacious, with kitchen, 1 WC/bath for six beds and a balcony. There is a sweet cat around. There is a private key for the hostel.

Israelthere were no adapters on the sockets for European standards
The main advantage of this hostel is the capsules that provide personal space and privacy. The hostel is located in a modern house. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony.

RussiaOf all the hostels it seemed the most comfortable. There are only 6 people in the room and that's only when there are a lot of bookings. There were only 3 people staying with me. Definitely worth it

ItalyGood morning, this is to make the following known about the structure in question The 20 euros requested for the overnight stay are included.. Room and common areas with dust and other various dirt distributed everywhere, also in the bathroom (i have some photos). Upon my arrival the bed was still with the sheets and towel of the previous client: the person present took everything and replaced it with other bed material on the terrace to dry. I was verbally threatened by another client, who was a compatriot and who spent a long time there because of work commitments, because when I arrived at 6 o'clock I phoned home in my room (about 10 minutes, and I was alone in the other side of the room) and I persuaded him not to continue so aggressively. And finally on my return after dinner, I was kicked out of the hostel by a guy (in charge of the structure? It is not known..) who, with a street bully with a hood on his head, gave a hand to the compatriot who 2 hours before had threatened me verbally and, after returning the 20 euros, sent me away badly after using the term "fucking boy" several times. He tried to threaten me, this time physically with a finger, whereupon I also told him that you can't threaten people... so randomly... even less a client. I have visited hostels in dozens of countries, but these are "people" who are disqualifying for those who work in this sector of tourism and tend to intimidate customers, not caring about the basic rules, as well as civil coexistence not between animals but between human beings (pls check other reviews before). I've seen the previous reviews and... I had to listen to those who proceeded to me in that place with those strange people. p.s. msg to the structure: jumping out of your hostel caused me an incredible and unbearable 15 minutes discomfort, and I was a guest with a super smart old person in the hotel: learn how to work !

PolandIt didn't look like the pictures, but I won't say the difference was terrible, as the other guest. Just be realistic, since it's a value stay. My main issue was the noise from construction across the street, but that's outside the property manager's control. And a crazy amount of mosquitoes, which kept me up on my last night. Some minor fixes could be done to the blinders of the capsules (mine didn't have one), the shower, and upgrading to noise-cancelling windows for it to level up nicely.
The WiFi was very good! The folks there were an interesting crowd (longer stays it seemed) and pretty helpful in my experience. It's super close to one of the main bus stops, and all the nice places are within walking distance. Some nice cats 🐈 come over to the property, as is normal in Cyprus. We had a mishap with booking two nights instead of one, and the staff solved it without issues.

PolandOne of the worst offers I have seen on booking.com. but made quite smart. First of all, the pictures are misleading! They suggest it is a normal hostel, with some common areas, etc. In fact, within this offer I did not have access to all these colorful places. I don't even know if they exist. There's no toilet paper, no soap. The shower is done in a way that's almost impossible not to make the whole bathroom wet. The staff did not seem to be fluent in English. I don't speak Greek, but I'm quite sure they don't speak that neither (they are likely from Russia, but I cannot be sure. The other guests seem to be there long term. One of them was very rude (maybe he was even from the staff, or stays there so long that he thinks he owns the place). Also the leaders to access the cabins (I would not call that "beds", have crooked ladder steps. Taking into consideration that on Cyprus it gets dark early and you don't want to use the light when others sleep, it is actually dangerous.

FranceSeveral things are not as advertised. This is not a backpacker hostel, perhaps it was 5 years ago, but now it seems to be more of a long term stay place. No physical reception, and definitely not 24/7 : just a guy on WhatsApp who doesn't speak english, and has very poor hospitality skills. No lockers : they "have lost all the keys" and apparently cannot be bothered to change the lockers to new ones with locks. No welcome and no showing around the place : you are just directed to one flat with a 6 beds dorm, a living room/kitchen and a bathroom. You give your cash payment to a long term guest roomate. You are not shown around to a common area, a garden, a terrasse etc like in the pictures. BUT other long term guests (very rude and entitled nonetheless), have access/the key to your flat and can come in and out to use the bathroom. One rudely explained to me that the front door of the flat should stay open during the day. So basically anybody, even from the street (no locked building door) can potentially come into the flat where you leave your things with no locker. Cutlery is on demand. No AC : the flat is airy but the pods get hot at night (no airflow) Heavy road noise all day and all night long (need window open because no AC) So again, if you don't mind those things it is a decent place to stay, clean etc, but if you are looking for a friendly modern backpacker hostel like in the pictures and description , you might be disapointed. It's a shame to have nice facilities like this and make it such a poor hospitality experience for short term guests.
Very clean flat Pods ok with blind, light and electricity plug + nice smelling sheets Not overcrowded dorm (max 3 people during my stay) Bathroom ok, possibility to use washing machine Clean, decent place if you just need a bed to crash and don't mind heavy road noise all day and night.

United KingdomI had a terrible experience at Jedi Hub Hostel. I arrived around 9:45 pm, only to find the reception closed with no one around. I eventually found a staff member who told me they only accept cash payments. When I asked if I could pay in the morning, he refused and said I had to pay cash now. As I was about to leave to get cash, he mentioned he was leaving for the night and I would not be able to check in at all. Despite the booking page stating that checkin is 'available 24 hours', I was effectively left on the streets at 10 pm. He suggested some other hostels, which I tried, but they were all fully booked. I ended up having to find accommodation 30 minutes away, far from the centre of Limassol, at very short notice. This was a deeply unpleasant experience, and the staff’s attitude was unhelpful and unprofessional. Avoid this hostel if you want reliable and safe accommodation.

United KingdomI didn't end up staying. I booked this hostel last minute because my other plans had fallen through due to my flight being delayed. The hostel advert stated that they offer 24 hour check-in and a 24 hour front desk. I booked the night stay just before my delayed flight took off, I landed at 0100 in the morning to find a message from the hostel stating they don't do check in after 2200, unless late check in is booked in advance and a fee applies! They also require a printed reservation, which I am surprised about as it is difficultfor travellers to print if they are already on their trip when booking. None of this is mentioned on their advert. I tried contacting their 24 hour desk and they didn't answer. I ended up having to sleep in my car as a solo female traveller, because I couldn't book anywhere else at that time in the morning. Jedi, you should make this clear on your advert that check-in is only until 2200 unless special times are booked in advance.
