Alpengasthof Götschenalm is a family-run outfit located on the outskirts of Bischofswiesen. It's close to all the sites: Berchtesgaden, Königssee Lake, and the salt works in Bad Reichenhall. There are also easy and more difficult trails for hikers in the area. The Gasthof itself is comfortable, clean, provides a good breakfast spread, and offers decent hot meals in the evening (a la carte). The lower floor is fully wheelchair accessible. Parking is free. It's a typical Alpine Gasthof, especially good for families with children. We visited in the summer. In the skiing season, the lift up the slopes is right next door.

The step down from the shower, the shower mat slipped on the polished tile floor and I fell. NOT good for an 84 year old man.i broke my collar bone and chipped my elbow. In pain until I get back to America to get to the Doctor.

Nothing really. Just a heads up that the lake and town are 20 minutes away. Nothing really in walking from a food or entertainment standpoint. We had a lot of rain so hiking was limited. Did love to quite of the location

Very quiet and clean. The kitchen and staff were 5*. A lot of locals drive up there to eat. Lifts don't run in the summer.

Didnt like that meals and drinks in the restaurant couldnt be paid for by card Think that smoking is allowed in rooms or has been in the past as there was a bit of a stale tobacco smell which was noticeable when coming in from outside. Booking .com states facilities include sauna and solarium this was not so which was not a problem for us but might be a problem for some .

Loved the peaceful location ,the, comfy beds . Great shower and plenty of space in the room. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful and the evening meals in the restaurant good and typically of the region Freindly hosts .

The only drawback I can think of is the loud Volksmusik/Schlager Music during breakfast, but that’s a question of our personal music preferences. (Someone else might enjoy that)

Beautiful location, right at the foot of the ski slope by the lift. The breakfast was good and plenty of it. The rooms were spotless. The mattresses were firm and the beds spacious. The bathroom was big and exceptionally clean. The Hotel as well as the rooms were not brand new, but maintained very well. They accommodated our dog. (We had our breakfast in the great room, as dogs can not enter the room with the open buffet, which is understandable) The cows add to the rustic charm of it.
