No elevator, but the stairs are not too bad. The room is very adequate but pretty spartan and small. For one or two nights without breaking the bank, it's good.

The room was spotless. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The owners and staff are hard working, very friendly, and altogether helpful. We had a welcome drink upon arrival and free coffee the next morning. If you happen to enjoy motorcycles, this is a great spot for you! Plus the place and the area are quiet!

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. It was perfect for what I needed for that weekend.

I like where it was located. I was in the process of moving out of my apartment in the next town over and stayed here for one night to finish my move. It was close to exactly what I needed and very convenient. The staff and owner were very friendly and the room was spacious and heated. There is also a bar and restaurant and they served breakfast. However, due to how busy the weekend was with moving, I did not enjoy those things. However, we did get a welcome drink of our choice, which was really nice.

Helpful and friendly staff. A good location for a stop-over en route to Austria. Ample free parking outside (and motorbike parking in the courtyard). A very popular hotel for motorbike tours, but equally welcoming for family groups. In spite of the -14 temperatures outside, we were warm and comfortable. The price was also very competitive. Overall, highly recommended as an overnight stop. The schnitzel was great too🙂

Breakfast should be an hour longer. Twin beds should have been hooked together. We thought Double beds meant one double sized bed, not two twin beds. Staff should take a walk around rooms at night to monitor people in hallways and entrances

Never had the chance to have breakfast there- Bar was really neat, great beer too! Would have like to see an Octoberfest in the courtyard in the evening, we must have missed it! Our English/Australian speaking lady at reception was great! If we're in the area again, we'll be back!

A no nonsense, lively hotel, bar and restaurant. We stayed for one night and everything was good, a free drink on arrival from the welcoming staff member, the room was clean and spacious, good WiFi in room, the evening meal and breakfast were tasty and good value. If you want posh and upper class nonsense then look elsewhere, this is a proper establishment with proper people and proper atmosphere. The lager was great too and I don't normally drink. Free parking.

Nothing bad about Bauer Schmidt

This was our 3rd stay here! We Love the charm of this Gasthaus. Does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe at all. The restaurant has amazing authentic German dishes, has a traditional Euro breakfast, the buffet is different everyday, with all the German favorites and is a great value! The quaint restaurant and beautiful Biergarten is self-service ordering, which makes it fast and convenient. Very friendly staff is willing to do anything to makethe stay enjoyable (just ask), the Gasthaus is full of old world decor, clean and Just a charming place!

We stopped over at this hotel for only one night as making our way to the Black Forest. The hotel rooms were clean and just what we needed for the stop over. The restaurant/bar area was lovely, relaxed and very hospitable. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay - we would have stayed longer.

room was very hot when I arrived. they had a fan in the room and that saved me. unfortunately the road noise woke me up in the morning. I had the window open for the cool air, but if the windows were shut then I couldn’t hear the road.

NO dislikes

The Restaurant is top! I have to say. If you like to eat cream or Rahm schnitzel it's Bauer! Also you have to try the buffet for good food and value. All portions is big and very tasty. Remind you This is a Gasthaus! Which means it is NOT a chain hotel! You get value and treated like FAMILY. It is a clean basic room and anything you need extra you just have to ASK and they will have a solution 😉 we had dirty clothes and they let us use the washer! Anything we ask for they never said no.
