It has a special motor room smell in the cabin, but it is possible to get use to it.

It is a unique place to spend your nights. The cabin is cute - it feels like you sleep in a drawer, but the bed is comfy. The staff is open and friendly. The location is lovely - easy access to the promenade, philharmoni, city.

The bed, i had to climb into it, but i guess that's normal when you book a room in a old ship, so its not really fair to complain about it :)

Very nice shower, after a week on a cruise most welcoming, very good location, 1m walk to the metro. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast

Very small space. Expected the room to be small but this was so small there was really not enough space for 2 people to move around without one having to either sit on a bed or go outside. A bit claustrophobic as you are not able to open the portholes. Great if you like ships in original format. Not everyone's cup of tea.

    Location. Friendly staff.

You sacrifice some luxury for nautical charm; the cabin was a little cramped. Climbing in and out of the bunk beds wouldn't be for everybody.

Great location on the harbour between the Elbphilhamonie and the Reeperbahn. Good food. Great breakfast.

Not much, but you have to be ready for the fact that it's a converted light ship! I travelled to Hamburg for the Ironman. It was a bit of a squeeze in the cabin with my bike box but we managed fine.

Amazing location, friendly staff and atmosphere, great food and drink, lots of fun staying on the ship.

tiny, cozy ship cabins - if you're a tall guy like me you'll be a little uncomfortable. If you're "american size" you'll probably won't even fit through the door, so take that into account

I’m quite short so I was fine with the small single bed. If your height is over 170 cm you may not find the bed comfortable.

The location and it was fun experience to stay in a boat hotel. I liked the breakfast (juice, coffee, boiled egg, some fruits, cheese and bread).

Not the best night's sleep in the bunk but still glad I stayed. Bit worn in places but mostly just adds to the charm / experience.

Fun and handy for the Elbphilharmonie

The room was a little bit noisy including a repetitive high pitched beeping sound (like from a distant smoke alarm that needs a battery replacing or something) but I slightly expected some noises due to the location. I used the earplugs they provided (nice touch) and listened to a podcast and then I couldn't hear the noises and I slept very well.

Amazing location for the Elbphilharmonie and for exploring the harbour. Friendly staff. Room was more spacious than I expected. All very clean and charming. Single bed was small but comfortable. Breakfast was nice but nothing super exciting : bread rolls, ham, cheese, boiled egg, orange juice and a little salad. Having read some other reviews I was worried the room might be too warm but it was about right (although it was November!!!). Great shower water pressure. They let me leave my bag after I checked out and come back for it later.

Converted ship makes for a charming stay in Hamburg
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveler
    • Single Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

Single room very small which was OK for me, but a tall person would struggle to fit in the built in bed. Shower also very small, but still OK. Biggest issue is the noise when they have live music - it conducts through the steel hull of the ship so there is no way to minimise it. Even with ear plus and a noise cancelling headset you could still feel the beat. But they don't have music every night.

Unique experience staying on a converted ship that is loaded with charm. Staff were super friendly. Location is very good for exploring by foot. Breakfast set in nice. Waking up to see the water through the porthole is very cool.

There is limited information about the accommodations in the “hotel” or about getting to the property. Taxis don’t know where the hell it is. This is an anchored small ship and there are stairs to get onto the vessel and stairs to access the hotel area. The ship is not easily accessible and there is no information about that. The room is extremely small. This is a small ship. Guests are staying in sailor bunks. One bed is a bunk that you have to climb into. The shower in the small bathroom has no containment so the entire floor would get wet. The pillows are crap. I asked for an extra pillow and they didn’t have extras. I had booked two nights but only stayed one and forfeited my reservation because they would not credit. We ended up staying one night at Stella Maria which was much more pleasant and still nearby the concert hall. It was also closer to more restaurants.

We visited Hamburg for a performance at the Elbphilharmonie. Das Feuerschiff is close by. The breakfast was nice.

We booked because it was interesting accomodation and it had a bar and restaurant, When we arrived to find they had booked the bars and restaurants out to Xmas functions so we were not allowed in to either, As a hotel resident this is outrageous, it's one of the reason we booked. Not happy at all which will reflect on Trip Advisor
