Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Shower didn't drain well and water flooded into the bathroom a bit, but it's not the end of the world.
You can't beat this location. The hotel itself is great. Good food options in the trendy bar and restaurant below. Clean minimalistic design. Gym is tiny, but you don't need more than that. I stayed at a chain hotel last year when I came into Stuttgart for work, and am glad I chose EmiLu this time. Will definitely stay at EmiLu again whenever I return to Stuttgart.

for a change - nothing to dislike
central location/ just 2 minutes to center of old city. a lot of good ristorantes up to 5 minutes walk. Publik transportation - 6 minutes walk away. There is a SPA & sauna in the hotel which I had no time to use. Best breakfast. room was big and cozy. Had all we needed. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We had an excellent stay in this hotel, very stylish, amazing location and good breakfast. We will come back for sure! Note: the free parking is only for cars under 2m height, we needed to pay for parking.

Perfect location, comfortable bed, great shower, and good breakfast. Pet friendly, there was even a dog bed in the room. Highly recommended.

This was a good hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The location was close to the old town and the Christmas Market. Easily walkable to other things in the city. The room was comfortable but not exceptional. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Our shower drain was stopped up and required a late night visit from houskeeping to mop the flooded bathroom and attempt to unclog the drain. My wife had to wait in the WC for 45 minutes while all of this was going on as she was already undressed and in her gown. There was obvious imprints on the shower wall where the previous guest had "sexy time" in the shower. I did not point this out to housekeeping due to the language barrier with the houskeeper they sent, who incidently was a jewel and did all she could to remedy the situation. I'm sure this is an isolated incident, but none the less, it should be addressed. There was no offer of compensation to this inconvenience, and this really turned me off. There was no follow up from the front desk to ask if me if the issue had been resolved either. An offer of a free breakfast would have been nice... but no. I would appreciate a call or email from the management staff... even at this point.
Location is great. If arriving by car, call ahead with your plate number so that you can proceed to the garage first. There is a garage door that will open and give access to a very secure area just for hotel patrons. This way you can unload in comfort. The room was very modern and clean, but see my negative comments below.

Mattresses weren't the best compared to the rest of the property.

There was no way we could find to turn off most of the lights individually. Also, the metal drum tables next to the bed were really annoying in the middle of the night if I tried to find my phone or take a drink of water off the table. Our view was of the parking garage.
