Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandI have stayed at The Hotel Excelsior many times and always enjoyed my stays with the excellent international variety at the buffet breakfast and their spacious rooms with free mini bar not so this time,on arrival at the Excelsior I found it closed and was redirected to the Monopol Hotel which had a small room a mini bar with 1 bottle of water and a very stingy buffet breakfast
the Monopol is on the same street as the Excelsior

FinlandWe were two teachers and 6 students and altogether 4 rooms. The single rooms that the teachers got were ok. The two triple rooms that the students got left a lot to be desired. One of the rooms had faulty doors - although locked, the room door opened several centimeters to the corridor so it was somehow loose. The door to the balcony didn't stay closed but slipped open all the time. In the other triple room the faucet was completely green with mould or algae. The room was dusty and the tiling in the bathroom dirty. In the window one of the panes of glass was broken - luckily it was double glazed. There was a lot of traffic noise as a result of the broken window. There was trash under the beds. The rooms were tired and in serious need of renovation. We had a hasty sleepover and had we stayed any longer, we would have asked for rooms that were up to code.
The staff at the reception were friendly and smiling. The breakfast was sufficient but not extremely varied.

United KingdomUpon arrival we were informed that it was no longer a functioning hotel and had been turned into a Ukraine refugee centre instead. We were informed that our booking had been changed to The Hotel Monopol next door. This came as a surprise as we had received no notification of the change. It would have saved us a difficult conversation with the poor people there, had information been available before our arrival. Due to the fact we did not stay in this hotel it is impossible for us to give it a review.

PolandThe neighborhood is shady, but that's not the hotel's fault. It's good to be aware of that though, because it's super uncomfortable to walk around there if you're alone, especially at night time. Otherwise I have no complaints, an amazing budget option that exceeded our expectations.
The localisation is sooo convenient for tourists, right next to the main train station. Easy check in, and you can check out until 12:00, which is great. Even though the hotel didn't have the 4 person and 3 person rooms we booked, they gave us an upgrade (2x a deluxe double room) and the rooms we got were very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The L'occitane shower gel/soap/cream/shampoo in the bathroom were such a nice touch. The breakfast was fine, if very basic. The staff was helpful and nice.
