Handing over a key deposit but when returning the key you don't get the deposit back? First time experiencing that in a hostel. The common area in the basement was full of bugs flying around. Kitchen was dirty. Beds are average and broken, need updating. And like every other review on here, the location the hostel is easily in the crack den of Europe. Never seen anything like it, and I've been to Skidrow in LA and Tenderloin in San Francisco. Been warned.

Really nice place and totally recommendable. Very clean! The bar has reasonable prices and I got to enjoy a beer tasting for free and meet people from other places. The location is not as bad as some people describe it.

It was our worst experience. The location was terrible, the location was full of drug addicts and junkies. Every time we were stressful about going out, the street was not safe. At night, the drunk people and addicts made a lot of noise outside so sleeping was very difficult in this situation. The kitchen in the hostel was awful. It was supper dirty, there were not enough pans for cooking. We were in different hostel and we never had a this experience. Please reconsider booking there☠️🤦🏻‍♀️

The neighborhood is awful. Major drug problems.There's no A/C in the rooms.

Five elements was like an oasis. It's a full service hostel with a kitchen and bar. They have baggage storage downstairs so make sure you bring your own lock. The rooms are on the bigger size, which was nice. Their location is fantastic if you're using the trains to get around.

at night, the streets are a little noisy because there are some night clubs on the same street.

the staff is really cool, friendly and helpful. the hostel is very cosy, lively and there are some common areas where you can spend some time playing some games and the guitar or chatting with some friends or other mates. there is a kitchen, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerador, kettle, pans, cutlery, cups, glasses, washing machine and dryer. however, it's kind of small, but possible to cook your own good and do your laundry. apart from this, the hostel is really clean. besides, it's very close to the hauptbahnhof where you can find several trains and subways lines and there are buses and trams nearby, too. nowadays, you have to be a bit more careful in the neighborhood because it's crowded.
