Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyFirst of all, i did not really like the location. Yes, it was near the center and the train station but there was always noise coming from the near clubs and from the huge number of homeless people on the street. Next, the room that they gave us was not clean at all. There were crumbs from the previous visitors, also a lot of dust and the floor was also very dirty + the window area. They did not provide us with shower necessities and only gave it to us when we complained. Also, they told us there is free dinner at 8pm so we went at around 7:50pm and there was only two plates with food which you could choose from. Since the food was too little, my friend was left without dinner and no one warned us that the rule is "first come, first serve". We should have been warned about this since it was very late and most of the dining places were closing by the time we went out to find dinner.

Austriathe location… as pointed out by other reviewers and the automated email from the hostel I got after booking. i feel it pretty terrible, especially when going back alone at night, some people ranting in language I don’t understand . Getting into the hostel I feel pretty safe, though.
Stayed in Frankfurt for only one night and it’s great! The staff is really nice and their bar is pretty good especially with the 2 for 1 during Happy Hour haha The room is pretty good. large storage, comfy bed. I booked a bed in a room of 4 but got a room of 3! proximity to the Hauptbahnhof which means easy connection to the very center of Frankfurt public transportation system, which can get you to basically everywhere.

United KingdomThe obvious drawback is the area, which appears to be the worst area in Frankfurt (red light district), however there is something interesting about that in itself. In any case, the hostel is very safe, and if you walk one or two blocks in either direction then you are away from the bad area.
Great showers, comfy bed. They were making free dinners every night and they were delcious. The common room area is very social, and the beer is cheap (2 for 1 for happy hour). Very close to the train station.

GermanyEverything was OK. But the area where the hostel is located is HORRIBLE. It's Frankfurt's Read Lights district, can't be worse than that. However, those people do not bother you, and more importantly, the Hauptbahnhof is 2 min WALKING from the hostel. The room was a little bit noisy (from the street) but not too much. If you are noise sensitive (like myself), the ear plugs will resolve the problem.
Everything went well. The staff were great, polite, friendly, quick, great young people. I had a double bedroom without bathroom (7th floor) which was clean, VERY BIG and comfortable. The next door WC with shower was clean and modern. There is an equipped kitchen next door on the same floor, there are several supermarkets nearby. The hostel offers a free dinner at 20h, you can give a donation that goes to help the Ukrainian refugees.

United StatesCould use a better and cleaner fridge which stank terribly, smelling the stench almost made me hurl, and there was very little place to put a few items. Must be larger AND cleaned more often. No freezer... Ladies do not have enough strong light to apply makeup in any bathroom. Would also help to have a mirror in the room for a quick look before running out. And if there could be an oscillating fan available in each room, it might not get so desperately hot.
Lovely breakfast, great service by staff, friendly atmosphere, not too loud music could still conduct conversations and enjoy new people.
