Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilThe staff advices you right after the booking process about the neighborhood. As we stayed only one night, it was ok. But unfortunatelly is not exactly a familiar neighborhood and we didn't feel very safe going out at night...
Staff is friendly and the hostel is very close to the main station, walking distance. Private room is ok for a couple in a few nights in Frankfurt.

MalaysiaTo get to the hostel, one would have to walk through a street that one would feel safer to do so during the day. After dark, it doesn't feel safe to venture out. Especially if one is alone. There is only 1 shower (per gender) for the floor and 2 toilets to share (per gender). There is no communal kitchen though you can ask for cutlery from the staff.
The location is very near the Hbf. The beds are comfortable. The toilets and shower are clean. There is a box under the bunk beds with a lock that you can put your things in.

Nigeria1. Bed sheets arent clean is like two people used before and they foldded it back. 2. Small room for 8 bunkers 3. Shared bathroom though gender seperated but you can practically see the next guy bathing cos only a glass seperating. 4. Too many hoodlums/gangster/Homeless people around. On arrival at the hostel i sensed insecurity 2 reception appoved security doors and then one door to room.
The location is perfect The price is right, i paid 18€ + 4€(local tax and so) and its kinda cover for the lapses.

Australiathe location is awful if you are a woman. if you are a man maybe it’s a problem, maybe not. I got some very awful cat calls and people trying to touch me as I walked to and from the hostel. People were passed out on the sidewalk and it smells awful around the hostel. it’s a really big shock. it was also (the hostel price) so expensive compared to every other hostel I have stayed in.
staff were helpful. I was “upgraded” by bookings.com to a 4 bed shared room. which I got there and was the only young girl in a room of 3 other men who were not clean, kind or courteous which made me very uncomfortable. they were able to the next day move me to a 6 bed girls dorm which I appreciated a lot.

JapanI know this hostel provide cheap price, but the balance between the number of people to shower is not good. Also the hostel is just beside bar, so if you open the room window, it can be noisy at night.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Thanks to them, I felt like home. The location closed to main station is great as well.

GermanyThere is only one shower on each floor (one for male, one for female) which meant I had to wait and try the other floors to take a shower in the morning.
The staff was very friendly. The common area is great with billiards and room to hang out. The checkin and checkout was very easy.
